I remember the last jar of mincemeat my grandmother purchased, back in the late 70's. It had venison in it.

My mother in law sent me to the store for mince meat. I couldn't find it so asked for help. Was directed to the tuna aisle..lol

Poor clerk had no idea what it was either.

Iberna.....my oldest son works in the office for Whole Foods out in Colorado, I'll have to mention this to him. Glad you found some mincemeat...was it Crosse and Blackwell as that is the other brand. Glad you liked the cookies, I'll be making mine closer to Christmas so they will be fresh for company.

Meijer has Challenge butter for $3 ((2/6) and a purchase kicks out a coupon for $2 off 2 pounds. At $2 a pound, I am stocking up. I cook for a friend once a week and after Christmas, I am going to start baking for the women's shelter again, so I use a lot of butter.
I haven't looked for mincemeat yet - I doubt if I'll find any. I have made my own in the past.
