How about "They're living high off the hog?"

Ever hear that expression?

Or "Can't can't ever do nothing 'cause they never did try"

I have 6 kids and they all look alike, so I tell them I brought you into this world and I'll take you out and it won't matter cause I have 5 more that look just like you. When they really get on my nerves and I want to hit them I tell them Keep it up and I'll hit you so hard you'll feel it till you're 30. Or I'll hit you so hard your grandkids'll feel it. After those they usually straighten up and fly right:)

My favorite thing to say to my daughters growing us, when they had a gripe, I would respond "that's just the way it is sometime" so my daughters responded to their children the same way. One day my daughter was just complaining, and my 3 year old granddaughter put her hands on her hips and informed her, "well mom, that's just the way it is sometime." I think that is the last time her mom repeated that phrase to her.

Mama would always say, "Treat others how you want to be treated." Amen to that!
