Blue Chicken, is a bach like a beach house? What an awesome view of the coast!!! I love beaches that you can get out and walk for miles!!! Lucky you, a beach close enough to walk to and another close enough to have as a get away 8) 8) 8)

Beachlady, what wonderful beach views you have!!!! Your beach is very similar to the ones I love here in WA and OR, sandy with some rugged rocks here and there. We do have some pretty rugged and rocky ones, don't you there too?? I can see why you aren't happy about moving :(

We have differences in lanquage here in Iowa even between the generations. I worked as a nurse's aide and in a conversation to another older aid and a patient same age as the other aid I made the comment that I was diddling around while I waited to come to work. Meaning I was killing time just doing this and that. They both laughed and said that had a whole other meaning "wink" "wink": when they were young!

Amma - it's stone under render which was the fashion in the 60s. I prefer the natural stone - here's a pic of the back. I'd like to get the render off and point up the stonework all over but Hans says it might be crap underneath, because the builders knew it would be covered. I might talk him into having a look one day - we can always render back over it again! :D

It's cement and chalk which is applied over brick or stonework - a bit like stucco I think?
