I think it will be beautiful and good for her..I have a few myself and frankly I dont care what other people think about them, I dont live my life based on others beliefs or views. As for what they will look like in 30 years, probably like they do now considering one of them is already almost 30 yrs..who cares? If you are going to judge me based on what you see, its not my loss.

I am of Christian faith and I very much agree with you. In my humble opinion tattoos make the skin look dirty. Also, you are correct in the fact that nothing belongs to us. Everything on this earth belongs to God. Has anyone ever seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul trailer?

I always wanted a rose tatooed on my breast, but now I am thinking about having it put on my knee because that's where they're heading anyway.

I have several. And I agree with TripleL 100%. A lot of the negative comments didn't even spell tattoo correctly. LOL. All of mine have meaning special to me. In 40 years, if I'm still alive, and if I'm in a nursing home (God forbid please), I'm pretty sure I still won't care what others think of them and how they may have changed with age.
I respect that some may not like them. To each his own. It isn't my right to judge others.

Just imagine the laughs that attendants will get in nursing homes in the future as all of these tattoos start to sag and bag!!
p.s. my son and his wife have them, too! |

How about the ones that look like they are wearing jewelry? What do you think is going to happen when a thief tries to take it and it doesn't come off? I have a daughter who put a """little""" rose on her right shoulder. well, let me tell you --she grew and so did the little rose. It is now a full blown rose that covers her whole shoulder. When you gain weight the tatoo grows and it does not shrink if you lose weight.

I think it's hard for those of us who are a bit older to understand why our daughters and granddaughters get tattoos, but really, we don't need to. I guess I just try to take a step back and appreciate that it is, for them, a personal statement and something of beauty that they value. My daughter had a very imposing tattoo put on her back and it stunned me. Since then, I've kind of gotten past it. Swallow hard and understand that things just change.
