To tell you the truth, I don't know what kind of stuffing I used; someone had given it to me just in a bag, no label. As to how much, I just put in enough for shape, but not so much that the arms & legs couldn't flop. I wanted it to sit up on it's own, yet wrap around the child while in a hug, which my little guy does.

Thanks everyone. I'm no longer afraid to try to make any kind of stuffed animal. I have the idea to make one by strip piecing multicolored prints into a big enough amount to cut the pattern pieces. That will be a very fun, colorful animal. I might quilt batting underneath too. A real Quilt Bear (or Bunny or Puppy).
