My husband is a man of many hobbies. He collects, everything!! Today he got out a pair of binoculars he found at the local household exchange shop. They are fine, but the case was dirty. He washed it, scrubbed it and got it clean. He asked me where he should hang it to dry. I mentioned the laundry room. No, I mentioned the deck, he said "No, it is going to rain", so he hung it on the un roofed front porch!!!!!

Japonica 10-26-2011 05:10 AM

Gotta love them! Sometimes I wonder where the heads actually are.

Hey you can get great use out of them, I love to watch birds! We have so many different ones here, even hawks.

carhop 10-26-2011 07:17 AM

Mine would bring car parts and run the dishwasher with them in it. It worked great on chrome

Peckish 10-26-2011 07:20 AM

That's funny - and I can TOTALLY see my husband doing something like that. He's got an IQ of 160 but sometimes I just shake my head, wondering why he's not using it... I think he got skipped when it came to the "common sense" gene.

Good thing he has YOU to watch over him@ lol

Some years ago we went to the ocean, watched big he-men going into the icy tides. One of them was wearing what looked like a very expensive watch, so DS, aged 7 or so reminded him that the water would ruin his watch. Startled, the guy agreed, removed the watch AND PUT IT IN THE POCKET IN HIS SWIMMING TRUNKS, then went swimming. DS just stood there with his mouth open....

LindaaJR 10-27-2011 10:41 AM

Maybe he had a prediction it would only rain in the back of the house. At least he cleaned the case up himself and did nto ask you to do it. Take care.
Linda

wildyard 10-27-2011 12:14 PM

Mine would do that, and later when he couldn't find it because he couldn't remember where he put it, he would insist he wouldn't possibly have hung it on the front porch because it was going to rain!

CharlotteO 10-27-2011 01:05 PM

do you know him/. Sure sounds like you do, I actually had to remind him to bring it in.

twixbar 10-27-2011 01:45 PM

Can't live with 'em, can't kill 'em....

I've never felt this way about my husband, but my kids are another story, especially The Teen!!! I remember once I was working in the yard, digging out some sod so we could put gravel down. A neighbor walked by and asked me what I was doing. I replied "I'm digging a grave for my children!" He howled.

mountain deb 10-31-2011 05:16 AM

The real question is, did you remove the binoculars or point them out to DH when it began to rain?

CharlotteO 10-31-2011 05:30 AM

Absolutely not!!!!

Nope, they ALL do it. But, I guess they "think" we do dumb things too. Course we don't.......
