My first choice was Abigail. Sorry I didn't use it.

She is the funniest kitten I have every had I think. She is living up to the clownish reputation of a calico. I grew up with lots of calico's and torties but they were Manx cats. The calico's were always more silly and fun then the grey or white ones we had. She is settling in quite well. I put up all the dangerous things in here that she could get into. Pins and thread and all that. She is so curious and quite the climber. But she mostly wants to sit or sleep on the desk and be close to me. We may have to figure out something different when I start to cut something out or sew. I do everything at this desk, so that may be a problem. But I will figure it out, I do have options. So for now anyway, I think her name will be Abby Rose, but I have been known to change my mind. I do like the makeup names. I was thinking Mabelienne (sp?) would be cute too. |
no suggestions, she is adorable though!

She looks like a Callie to me. I am so glad you received her from a shelter. there are so many people that do not realize how many beautiful animals are waiting at their local shelters for a new home.

Hobbit ..................

MY GRANDAUGHTER HAS A CALICO WITH VERY SIMILAR MARKINGS AND SHE HAS NAMED HER "PRECIOUS". AREN'T KITTYS SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!! LET US KNOW WHAT YOU DECIDE.

Your keeping her in your sewing room.....How about Stitches. You never know, she just may keep you in stitches :)
I will call her George!!
She's so cute, I'd call her Cutie Pie.
Talula
Call her "Lucky" because she is lucky that you found her.
Did you know all cats this color, Calicos are females. Welcome from Denver, and I love Pollyanna. She is adorable.
Callie seems like a perfect choice to me, but she's your baby. alternately, you could name her after a female detective, she surely looks as though she's checking everything out.

Well, Abby Rose is settling in quite well, and is becoming very bonded. She thinks she has to be no more then a few inches from me. I let her out to explore a bit tonight. We have a big Doberman dog that is dying to give her a good sniff and she is just not having that. I am sure he would not intentionally hurt her but he does scare her, so we are not letting him too close to her yet. We put Duke to bed in another room and let Abby have the run of the house. I watched a movie and she was on my chest the whole time.
I am really surprised how friendly and sweet she is. My Persian is the last kitten I have had and Priscilla has always been sort of aloof and snooty. She loves my husband, but is not crazy about anyone else. I wanted a lap kitty and she is not that way at all. My Maine coon boy is friendly and attached to me, but really only likes to be inside for short periods of time. He wants to hunt and lay on the back porch. I think that he thinks he is a lion. Abby has a much different personality so far. She is just a baby, so it may change, but for now it is kind of fun having a sweet cuddly little one around. |
Fratcat, I agree with you about shelters. Our last 3 dogs have come from the local shelter and all have been excellent animals. DH says after we move, he is going to go 'shopping' for a cat there. (Where we are now, cats are too often coyote lunches.)
I would call her diamond. If a hellion, her middle name could be (in the rough). lol.
I like Vickie's suggestion....Callie.
OOPs! Sory that was Kaz's suggestion.
Oh she looks just like our Molly did, she was so sweet and gentle.
Very cute, no ideas on the name.
Well since she is cute as button, it could be Buttons, or she's a doll, don't know how big her boobs are, she could be Dolly,
I like Callie
Did you find a name for your kitty yet? If not may I suggest 4-Patch.
She is so cute. |
Harriet entered my mind when I saw her. I'm not sure why though. She is adorable!!!
She is a beautiful kitty and I'm sure will bring lots of joy to your house.
I see you have settled on a name of Abby Rose. |
Aww cute as a button!
My neighbors named their new addition "Abby" - I can't help snickering because all I can think of is the movie "Young Frankenstein" when Igor said he had gotten the monsters brain from Abby-someone....oh yes.... Abby Normal! |
Interesting, I had never heard the name abby rose until last fall. My neigbor's son's had a daughter and yes they named her Abby Rose. I think it is a beautiful name.
