Someone just gave her to me yesterday. She was covered in fleas and has a rash under her neck from a too large flea collar. She is very malnourished and scared of everything. Her little hip bones stick out and her ribs are very visible. So today after a good bath and getting rid of the collar and eating about 4 or 5 small meals a day, she is beginning to get a smile on her face. I am treating the place on her neck with hydocortisone cream until I can get her to the vet....which is tomorrow. Now Rexie is just not sure about all this but I think he will be a good friend in a few days.

Oh, what a sweetie! It is a shame that animals have to endure such abuse when all they want is to be loved and cared for! Thank you for taking her in and getting her the necessary medical attention she needs/deserves!!!
|
Kudos to you for saving the life of this lovely fur baby. Makes me angry when people don't care for animals appropriately. Thank you for sharing.

Poor little punkin! Flea collars are just horrible, anyway. I am so glad she found a loving home with you.

congrats on looking after her I am sure she will be a wonderful companion once she settles in with you, lots of little feeds and lots of cuddles for her, I have a rescue dog and he is getting on in life now so we will be looking for another rescue ourselves soon.
I get so angry with people when they get pets and then don't look after them, well done on turning her life around and giving her a loving home |
We got out chihuahua from some one that didn't want her anymore and she was so skinney, but what a sweetie, now she's plump. (like me!) People should think before they decide to get an animal! I hope she relaxes soon.

Beautiful little dog. She will love you forever for the kindness. love her coloring.
|

What a sweetie! I am a volunteer with basset hound rescue-4 of my guys have been rescues. I can never understand why people treat these lovely creatures so badly. All but one of my hounds came to me as pups just months old given up for the most pathetic reasons.
|
How cute. I'm glad she got a good home.
|
She looks so sweet..... thank goodness you have her now. I don't know how people can neglect or be down right cruel to animals...
|
Bless you for helping the little sweetie out! There should be a special place in Hell for those that abuse animals!!!
|

We have a daily swap shop on our local radio, so this woman called in to give away a chihuahua. I took down the number and ran to the phone. Then I hung it up thinking I don't need another dog right now. So I fixed breakfast and washed dishes and I thought I would call just to see if anyone had taken her. No one had so I told her I would come and get her at 3:30 that afternoon. When I got there, I didn't even get pulled into the driveway. She came running out and put her in my arms and said theyre you go. Poor little thing was scared to death. My husband held her in a blanket all the way home. She is supposed to be 2 yrs. old, but I don't know. Her name is supposed to be Peppie, but she doesn't look like a Peppie to me. Can you change their name without confusing them any further?
|
What a sweet baby and kudos to you for stepping up to the plate and giving Rexie a loving home...saved animals are the best!
|
Poor little girl! I'm glad she's now in a good home.

Rexie is my already dog. This one is Peppie, but I don't like her name. She just doesn't look like a Peppie.

What a lucky cutie pie for you to find her, she is so cute and I am sure with a lot of TLC she will lose that stressed look, my rescued Fur-Baby did who is now 11 years old and still has "hang ups" about being abanded, but we cope :-P THANK YOU for being one of the good caring ones.

She is a doll and so glad she found a good home |
Maybe her REAL name is Ms. Pepper. Pepe is a boy's name. I bet she'll be a little pistol when she is well and gets her confidence back. Or if you'd like a name to go with Rexie it could be Gina, short for Regina.
(For those who missed Latin 101, Rex means 'king' and regina means 'queen') Whatever her name, she'll rule. |
awww she's gorgeous. I know she's got a great home now!
|
Aww, very cute! So glad she has someone like you to care of her.
