Val in IN 06-26-2012 05:56 PM

Good for you!! I got a little 49cc scooter to putt around our small town on. It's yellow and black so I call her "Aunt Bee" ('cause she looks kinda like a bumblebee, and also because our town reminds me of Mayberry and the real "Aunt Bea"). Hope you enjoy your new wheels as much as I do mine. 80mpg makes me a happy girl!!

Peckish 06-26-2012 05:57 PM

Now you need a backpack to haul all your goodies in!

buslady 06-26-2012 06:07 PM

Cool ride. I used to have a goldwing. Now i also have a 49cc yellow and black scooter. Great mileage,

LOL - 2 big saddlebags should hold a lot of fabric.

sassey 06-26-2012 07:01 PM

I am so jealous I used to ride all the time I really started before many women rode solo I had so much fun. I owned 4 diffrent bikes through the years you will have so much fun it gives you a great since of freedom I had a little trailer that matched my lasty bike it would hold lots of material rulers and ect

Grandma Peg 06-26-2012 07:06 PM

Good for you. Have fun with your new wheels.

Exactly what I was going to suggest!
Granted a sidecar could hold more ... or one of those pull behind trailers they have now!!! :)

Have FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

tucsonquilter 06-26-2012 08:56 PM

I ride a 250cc scooter since 2008. I have three of the net things that have hooks on them. I use them for everything on my scooter. I bought a roll of warm and natural at Jo Anns (44 yards) and strapped it on the back of my scooter and off I went. My husband thought I was crazy. LOL

mountain deb 06-27-2012 04:21 AM

Wish I had the nerve to learn. Sigh....

kountrykreation 06-27-2012 04:27 AM

KEWL! Two really BIG saddle bags for all that fabric shopping and you'd be good to go. Enjoy your new toy

But PLEASE!, not in sandals and without a helmet!

quiltntoday 06-27-2012 07:20 AM

You go girl! Motorcycle mama and quilter to boot. Just take care of yourself on that big machine and watch out for the "yehoos" on the road.

BellaBoo 06-27-2012 07:35 AM

Nice bike but every mother's nightmare! My ex had lots of bikes and I rode a few times. I was not a fan. LOL. I wore leathers, helmet, gloves, and boots on every ride. This was in Southern Calif. and it was hot but I wore it all. I saw too many of his friends get seriously hurt because safety equipment was not used.
So please wear all the safety equipment every ride.

Buttons922 06-27-2012 08:17 AM

See you in August at Sturgis and our wonderful local quilt shops that ship!!

bibi 06-27-2012 08:32 AM

Good for you. But be safe, always wear a helmet.

annthreecats 06-27-2012 09:22 AM

Your "bee" story reminds me of my HS BF. His dad (who was a doctor so was well-known in our town) rode around on this little tiny motorcycle... with a yellow & black helmet with antennas... it was a hoot! You go, girls! More power (horse power?) to you!!!

Sandra in Minnesota 06-27-2012 11:23 AM

So, where is your quilted helmet??

damaquilts 06-27-2012 12:37 PM

Nice!!! Now I hope that puts to rest the "little old lady in a rocking chair" idea of a quilter once and for all. LOL

Mountain Deb,

Check with your local DMV. In our state they offer a class provide the bike everything except the helmet. The instructors were wonderful. Class is like $100 worth every penny.

Floralfab 06-27-2012 12:58 PM

You go girl!!!

patmas57 06-27-2012 01:10 PM

Nice ride! Wish I had been able to ride my bike to work today, but I have to have an eye exam and they're going to dilate my eyes.

Farm Quilter 06-27-2012 06:01 PM

Sweet!!! You will need saddle bags (I know I did) to handle all the cool stuff you buy on shop hops!! We need to start a motorcycle club for quilters!

twoxover 06-27-2012 06:08 PM

very cool! give more details! i ride a vespa lxv....

Mornigstar 06-27-2012 06:27 PM

With the price of gas it's a wonder many more aren't riding like so many Europeans have done for yrs.
We live in such bigger areas. Great pic.

fidgety 06-27-2012 06:36 PM

Sweet..... I agree you need saddle bags..... have fun and remember to keep " The Shiny Side Up "!!!!
