I've been creating stained glass art for about 12 years, that's what the other side of my craft room is set up for. I thought you might like to see some photos of a few of the pieces of glass that I've made over the years. Hope you enjoy the pics! :)

Beautiful work! Thanks for posting!

Learner747 02-16-2012 10:49 AM

This is my other hobby, too. Your work is much more beautiful than I have created. I appreciate the time and effort you put into them.

Beautiful work! If I wasn't a quilter, I would want to do stained glass. I do not need another obsession! I watch Vicki Paine and dream.

Sew N Tune 02-16-2012 12:15 PM

Beautiful work indeed. I have small pieces throughout my house. I do love it hanging in my windows. I see you had a navy chief - US Navy piece. My husband is retired Navy - E7.

Sandra in Minnesota 02-16-2012 12:29 PM

Beautiful work - Now, how can I make these into quilt blocks???? Hmmmm

Floralfab 02-16-2012 01:25 PM

Beautiful work

They are very pretty.. I gave up stained glass, and took up quilting instead.. I was living in a studio apt, and stepped on a glass chip once too often.. I donated all my supplies, and grinder to someone that appreciated them..

I love stained glass. I would never attempt it because of the glass slivers. Kudos to you.

TanyaL 02-16-2012 04:52 PM

When you need to sand the edges of your glass, how do you keep the glass dust off of your fabric?

I put my glass grinder inside a portable sandblasting box, so I can grind away and no glass dust gets out. :)

Monroe 02-16-2012 07:26 PM

I love your work. A few years ago I acquired some boxes of stained glass scrap and a grinder, but still haven't made any of the mosaics I'd dreamed of. Someday.....

quiltpd 02-16-2012 07:46 PM

What a great job you have done on those pieces !

SunlitenSmiles 02-17-2012 05:58 AM

leaded glass and slumped/fused glass (kiln) have given up on the molten glass (paperweights, beads) the torch work also as it is rough on my eyes even with the protective lenses.........my children think i am safer quilting.

my fabric stash is softer (and in the house) than my glass stash (garage) passion for color is in my brain

StarofMoonDancer 02-17-2012 06:48 AM

Oh Wendy these are beautiful. I love stained glass. Makes you happy especially when the sun shines through.
Wish I had more pieces. I would love to have one that makes a rainbow to show the promise God made after
the flood. Love the way the colors flow.
You are good.
Thanks for sharing. :):)

I love your work, especially that mallard duck. I love quilting too much to take on any more hobbies. I rarely get back to my painting and beading these days. Too many quilts, so little time. LOL

Dee 02-17-2012 08:34 PM

I love any kind of glasswork...yours is truly beautiful. I think many crafts are "connected" and I think your glasswork and your quilting go together. Mosaic work is another one that springs to mind. Thanks for sharing with us....
