Small yellow irises - what I call flag irises (Iris pseudocorus) grow at pond sides, don't think they're the same ones. That's the problem with using COMMON names instead of the Latin ones - causes all sorts of confusion! LOL

http://elouai.com/images/yahoo/a39.gif this is as close as i can come. my yellow flags grow dry. they are identified by a hard ridge running the length of the leaves. they have a peculiar angled stem at each leaf and bud juncture. the ones that grow pondside here are the purple slender ones, especially favored for fishpond color. |
Yea, the tomato plant is growing out of the hole in the bottom of the bucket.....go figure, I thought the tomatoes would pull it down... I guess not a very big hole would be prudent....

Cabana Boy???? Oh, my female neighbors and I have decided, when all the menfolk are gone, we will hire a Cabana boy on the pretense of mowing lawns, but we will just let him walk around shirtless... and serve Margeuritas, except on Thursday... that will be Cosmos day!!!

Here's a pic of Iris pseudocorus http://image05.webshots.com/5/0/59/7...9MQYXvL_fs.jpg I don't remember the leaf ridge so maybe it's different. In the UK and here in France they grow wild. Here is a pic of my pelargoniums for you! K x Pelargoniums!!! Oh yes they are! |
I love window boxes!...and red, lol!
I don't have any window ledges, and my hedge bushes cover my porch rail, so have to hang pots, when they have flowers. My grandbaby hasn't been here in a while, and this morning, we went out on porch...she is five,...and she says, "nana, you have marigolds!" I said, "well, yes, I do. Your granny must have some?" yup. Ok, maybe not rocket science, but think she is very observant. She also noticed my living room had been painted, as soon as we walked in. When I asked her if she liked it, she threw her arms around me, and said, "I love it!" She is very cute and adorable, I'm not just biased!!! :D |

those FLOWERS look a lot like my geraniums except that mine have a much fuller flowers - to - leaves ratio. it's raining now, and some of the plants have not even opened yet, and you can't attach on a pm, but if you pm me your email address, i'll eventually attach photos of what i have as they open. we're taking over this entire thread. |

They are the same plant, no doubt about that. The common name IS geranium, you're right but the botanical name is pelargonium so I'm right too! :D BTW it's my thread and I say we can take it over! So there! Will PM you now. K x |
hey, no fair dueling in private!
