(And I don't talk like this- it must be the company around here............)

They'd either be "Hardies" or "Sofites", depending on whether they are hard-cover or soft-cover books?

That's what I was thinking

You must be joking quiltncrazy, I have been on my own now for over 9 years - I always joke that I am more celibate than your average nun, but I would hate to offend any nuns, so please excuse me if any of you are.

Woo hoo, sewjoyce - you have a firmie in the post too. Well Done! Is it a hardie or a softie?

Lacelady 06-23-2009 03:28 PM

All I wanted to do with this thread was distinguish between the fabric filled squishes, as I am so pleased with myself for ordering these books, and wanted to tell you all about them. I don't think I have ever bought 5 magazines at one time before, let alone 5 books. I don't want to encourage all the rude minded comments if we get shut down, but on the other hand, I have had a real laugh with all your comments. I'm still not sure what we settled on, was it Firmies?

I'm not sure what ya'll decided name wise....all I know is now, "I'm going shopping" for a firm hardie or a hard firmie....can't wait to see what's on the other side of my door when it arrives
If the UPS/Postal guy has a good body....does that make my delivery a hard-bodied-firmie

littlehud 06-23-2009 06:51 PM

Well.......I never thought about that. Guess they would be. :D :D :D

Patrice - turn a blind eye!

beachlady 06-24-2009 02:15 AM

K, thanks for the morning chuckle - our UPS guy is gorgeous - he comes at the end of the day and sits in front of the beach and we all gather around the truck and drool. He definitely is a hard body.

sandpat 06-24-2009 04:39 AM

Knowing our luck he'd probably be on vacation!

k3n 06-24-2009 05:31 AM

Yeah, and we'd get some hairy butt ugly guy instead! Oh, well it's a beautiful beach, we could have a great time anyway! And we could help beachlady by reducing her stash so she doesn't have so much to move! LOL

Now that would be worth the trip! Of course all in the name of friendship!

kwhite 06-24-2009 05:41 AM

Lord I am glad I missed this whole convo. With the sore ribs I would have ended up with the fat hairy butt paramedic carting me off to the hospital. Now I feel good enough to add my own spin.

I am surprised none of you thought of the packages with the notions as "lumpies" in serious need of a Dr.

k3n 06-24-2009 09:44 AM

Good excuse Amma! LOL

Ninnie 06-24-2009 09:47 AM

Right behind you amma!

Lacelady 06-24-2009 10:46 AM

Well, when I asked the original question, I really didn't think I would be laughing so much, you have really given me some good giggles. I would estimate my postie as being in his late fifties, so no contest with beachlady's USPS guy. Would you consider a swap?

Quilt4u 06-24-2009 10:53 AM

   OK I'm tring not to LMAF here at work and it is hard tears are now running down.

Can you send them all? I would hate to discriminate. Sorry, not shorts here, so our postie will arrive with regulations long trousers.

Inspired, kwhite! Now we have squishes, for fabric, Firmies for books, either as Hardies for hardback books, or Softies for softback books, and now Lumpies for Notions. I think that has now sorted out the Dictionary, and perhaps my sides will heal from the splitting.
