They will either work it out or they will ignore each other. They may never stop hissing at each other but they can co-exist in the same area. Give them time, lots of time...

But before anyone uses hydrogen peroxide on a carpet, be sure to test it on a swatch or in a hidden place, such in a closet, because it might bleach out some carpets. I leave it to soak in because it needs to penetrate into the backing in order to do any good. |
If I can put it in the washer, I use the same soap I use on my husband's hunting clothes to take the scent away. It has worked well so far. I think I have only had to rewash things one time and I figure that may have been fabric content.
My female cat got caught in the laundry room one time and she peed on a pile of laundry on the floor now she wants to pee in that spot all the time so I have to keep the door closed. |

Hints from a Mom to4, We found the first cat thinks she owns you. Has her own litter box, then my GD dropped off a cat so little, First cat tolerated the newcomer as she still ruled. They both grew up and of course we had the operation. They are outside cats unless its bad weather. During the bad snow and so cold someone left a small female cat on our corner. We are the only house close. Being an old softy I took her in made appt for her surgery. Came into season. She had 5 adorable kittens. We got one a good home and kept one very smart and so pretty one. Took the rest to the vet so he gets them homes. The older cats tolerate Baby cat and Muffin. They are outside as they will not share a litter box. When baby comes in she runs to a dark place and does her job. I have tried spraying her with water. It did not work. I noticed like babies they go right after they eat. So be quick if you bring them in. They will decide who the alpha cat is..

Cat bites!! I was bitten by one of mine 7 weeks ago - six weeks of antibiotics, two hospital stays, & one surgery later - I still am not back to normal - worst - I can't quilt since its on my right middle finger & I'm right handed.
The emergency doctor said 80% of cat bites become infected! I can attest to that! |
