What about making those little coasters that are made of 2 1/2" strips of fabric. My friend made me some and I love them. Have been making them for my granddaughters teachers for Christmas presents. If you are interested, PM me and I can make a sample and put it in the mail to you.

i'm making the pyramid pouches. i got my zippers from China on Amazon, 40 for $9.95, no shipping.
They are the pretty lace ones, i got all white, and am using sewing motif fabric. They don't take
long to make, and I have about 25-30 to make for Christmas this year for my bee friends.
