Hi...are you a Bernina dealer....Im thinking of buying a used 180E....I've heard wonderful things about them...what is your take....and what is a fair price? Help!

I have 2 Vikings (that I adore), (1) New Home (that is 20yrs old) that I bought for $10, and I have a old Singer from 1937 that I inherited. My son bought me (2) Singers, new ones yesterday. But if for some reason I would get one, I would go for the Janome brand

A Bernette is NOT a Bernina and should not bear the name! I haven't had one, but the reviews online are every bit has horrid as my Singer T&S. Janomes seem to have really high user satisfaction ratings. Plus, the only people I know who have even heard of Janomes are serious about sewing, so I don't the reviews come from a lot of casual users.

I would go for a real Bernina if you can. I bought used and love it. If not, go for the Janome.
