I made this diaper bag this weekend....I'm going to use it to carry on the plane when I fly in May. It's a Favorite Things pattern design called "Mama Mia". www.favoritethings.net.

I hadn't realized how much I have gotten used to rotary cutting.....this pattern uses TISSUE paper and SCISSORS!!!! I had problems with it!! Especially when I got hot and turned on the overhead fan....duh!!! ROL!

bjnicholson 02-21-2011 02:00 PM

Beautiful! Paper patterns are a pain aren't they?

thequiltmama 02-21-2011 02:05 PM

amandasgramma 02-21-2011 02:33 PM

Thanks everyone.

The pattern says it's 14" high, 20" long, and 9" deep. The inside pockets have elastic in to hold the bottle.........we won't talk about what kind of bottle I'll put in it...ROLMAO!

That's a beautiful bag. You did a great job inspite of the scissors.

moonwork42029 02-21-2011 04:18 PM

I made my bow tuck pattern out of poster board and have had to redo it because I went wild on one side with the cutter....now I just measure it and it's so much easier.

Gosh, I haven't used a tissue paper in ages and I thought they were so cool at the time.

Your bag looks great.

I like this bag. I don't have any grandchildren but I like bags with lots of pockets so I don't loose everything. Like the fabric you used.

RitaVil 02-22-2011 09:19 AM

Absolutely gorgeous! I must have that pattern! Off to check it out.

grannypat7925 02-22-2011 09:43 AM

Izaquilter 02-22-2011 09:46 AM

Great job despite the pain it was to make! That's why they say 'every quilt (bag in this case) has a story!

Thanks for the site. I was thinking about laminating paper and tissue patterns I like and hope to use again.

Does anyone have pointers?

Thanks!

greaterexp 02-22-2011 10:17 AM

It's gorgeous! I'm glad you stuck it out and finished it. I found out that those patterns are not digestible or re-usable; my dog ate all those little pieces that flew off when I turned my fan on.

Homespun 02-22-2011 10:25 AM

Love your choise of material--cute bag.

gramquilter2 02-22-2011 10:31 AM
