We have grabbers all over the house to retrieve dropped things, etc...Hubby buys them at Harbor Freight, inexpensive...

That's a great idea! I have a long skinny brush that's used for cleaning down into lint trap area that doesn't always work for pulling something forward. The backscratcher has a claw on it!

I unbend a wire hanger to pull things out. Told DH next time we get a stacking set. The bending is too painful anymore.

I just got a new "hybrid" washer and matching dryer. The drum is ginormous (I wanted something I could wash a quilt in) it has an agitator, and is HE except if I push a button and it will fill all the way up. Anyway, I am short, and have to get on tip toes to get things out of it. My quilts aren't heirlooms and are pretty sturdy so I don't mind agitating them to wash. The dryer is big too but since I am short don't have to bend that much.

Thanks, what a great tip!!! I was just complaining to my DH yesterday about how badly it hurts to have to crawl into the dryer to get the last items out!

You are one smart gal! I'm having trouble reaching the back of the dryer AND the bottom of the washer. I'll be buying a couple of new back scratchers at the $ store on my next trip.

I used my back scratcher yesterday to beat a wasp to oblivion on my window sill yesterday! Cheap tool with a million and one uses. ;)

Poor wasp, I wonder if any other wasps seen you do this. Hopefully so, and they will stay away.

Another tip...........

Try it on your cat. Kola loves it when I use the back-scratcher on her. She is all over it. Just her back and sides not her belly for obvious reasons.

I have two of those from HF. One is my sewing room to reach fabrics way up high.

I bought myself a grabber. It is very useful for high, low & far things. My kids think it a great ty for picking up their rooms!
