I was mamaw until they got their g's. I really liked it. I was almost sad when it changed to Grandma but I will take it anyway I get it as long as it keeps coming. They fill up my heart!

I really like GramCracker! That totally fits me. But there better not be any grandkids until after college...and a career...and no debt...I'm dreaming, right?

debbieumphress 05-12-2010 01:11 PM

Grammie here, my mom is Oma, and GGM is Nana. And then there is Mimi too.

fabric-holic 05-12-2010 01:14 PM

Now I'm Grandma (which I love!)
But my brother and SIL are MiMi and Bop to their grandkids

Janetlmt 05-12-2010 01:20 PM

My granddaughter is 19 months old..we are pressing her to call me Nana..so far..Na is the extend of it...she calls her grandfather Dappy. I love being a grandmother.

I'm Grandma to some, Nana to others...William is Papa to all of them...
My great grandmothers were Nonnie, Nana, and Nama..

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 05-12-2010 01:38 PM

I had a Mamaw in Virginia and a Grandma in Illinois. Easier to keep track with two different names.

My mom is called Mamaw. My mother in law is called Grandma Dorothy.

My dad was not up for being a Papaw or a Grandpa so he is Ol' Bob. His choice.

MamaBear61 05-12-2010 01:39 PM

I am Granny or Grandma Bear, but really only 1 can talk so far, she is 2, and there is a 1 y.o. and twins that are 6 1/2 weeks (so they don't say much just yet) and 2 more on the way. YIPPPEEEEEEE.

littlehud 05-12-2010 01:58 PM

My DGD called me Memaw for the longest time. She called my mom Grandma. After my mother passed about four years ago she started calling my Grandma.

Ilovemydogs 05-12-2010 02:01 PM

My mom goes by bubbi, My stepmom goes by Nana

Barbm 05-12-2010 02:20 PM

Noah calls me Grammie Barb.
Zack calls me Mom Mom ('cause I'm his Mom's Mom).
Hailey has never called me by any name. I wonder what it will be?
Taylor is only 4 weeks old, not saying much at this point.

They call my husband Poppa. Noah says Poppa 'cordion because he plays the accordion. My kids call him Pa, from Little House on the Prairie- they said he looked like Michael Landon with his long curly hair.

I go To The Sea To Breathe 05-12-2010 02:25 PM

5 of my grandkids call me Huney and the youngest who is 12 calls me Grandma. The oldest is 22yrs old and of course he started all of the Huney calling. We raised him and my husband when Jake was very little was trying to get Jake to say GGGrrrrgrandma, and my husband called to me to come and listen and of course my DH said, Huney, come and hear Jacob. From that point on I was and have been Huney.

Pamela Artman 05-12-2010 02:28 PM

I'm just grandma to my two and grandma Pam to all of my husband's, but before my oldest could pronounce her g's, I was mugah. She kinda got her syllables turned around.

FunkyMonkey 05-12-2010 02:32 PM

my brother and I used to call my Grandma "Gucky".. I think it was because her family used to call her Chick or chicky. I guess we couldn't say Chicky. She loved it and it will always be a wonderful memory to me!

OraLee 05-12-2010 03:17 PM

My Grandchildren call me, MEME

OraLee 05-12-2010 03:20 PM

Today I went to the store called Tuesday Morning and was able to get a pair of 4" Fons & Porter thread snippers for only $5.89. What a steel. I also found a free pattern for the Bargallo quilt on a sight called Big Horn Quilts and many other fun patterns.

clem55 05-12-2010 03:33 PM

Like a couple others, I was Mawmaw for awhile, and then about school age they started callimg ,me Granma. I never pushed the granma, but at times when I or others spoke of me they would say grandma, and the little ones just picked it up. To me that is about the sweetest name I have!!
