I love my kindle but I've heard very good things about Nook also - I bought Kindle only cause I'm in the middle of nowhere as is - so it made no difference if I needed help or not - not a close B&N near me either... but, I've gotten many hours of relaxation reading from it - and since nothing is close, neither is a library - but we have wifi/internet - so Kindle worked for me... Enjoy - what ever you get.. it's worth every penny -

I started out with a nook, then my son up graded me to a nook color and then to a tablet. I love them all. I have given my nook color to my mom and my first nook to my daughter. They are all still under my name so we can all share books. We all really enjoy our Nooks. I hope you love yours too.

I have the Kindle Fire and several regular Kindles. I think Nook and Kindle all work the same. Either one is great to have.
I have Kindles because I have Amazon Prime.

I got one for xmas, my daughter has been helping me get used to using it. I found out about the game words with friends which is like a crossword puzzle. Its an app and I believe 2.99. I have enjoyed that so much playing word games with people I know and some I don't, helps keep the mind sharp and pass time when you don't want to do anything else. I am like you I know there is much more it will do and I learn a little bit at a time.

You can even get your quilt magazines on it if you want.

also, on your Nook there should be a guide on how to use it that you can open. mine is on Home and I just scroll down to it and read and read.

I love my nook color. Go the B&N store and ask them to help you set up a master nook card. You can store your gift cards on the B&N website and use them to purchase books/apps for your nook. I do this to keep myself in check when buying books. I could easily send a ton of money but by having a master nook card on my account I spend my monies from my gift cards first before using my credit card.

I bough a Simple Touch Nook a couple of months ago. I debated with myself for about a year as to whether I would use it. I finally bought it and love it. I especially like the feature where you can highlight a work then look up he meaning. Really neat feature IMHO.
