After the first couple of postings, I fail to see the humor in all of this. I don't think this is the forum for this kind of thing. Please use all this energy on your Senators to stop Obama Care!!

This is the general chitchat forum. And this is what we put in it humor and non quilting topics. And nothing we do is going to change the Obama's economic killer bill from passing. Commrade Pelosi and her puppet regime will see to it.

I was just in Texas for two weeks and while there my sister and I went to the Wimberly Market Days. I was so hoping to find an antique sewing machine to send home. Well, no, did not find anything like that, but I did see lots and lots of treadle bases used for all sorts of things. I was so horrified I don't even remember what those things were. I just had to wonder what happened to all the sewing machine that used to be on those bases.

My wife has a treadle stand that she uses for her makeup table and for getting ready for going out. I have a piece of Marble on top of the original wood top (minus the fold out leaf and the machine plates). It has the drawers and the pull out center drawer still intact. It was painted an antique white with gold toned patina added.

It looks great and its fits the decor of our home with all of my treadles everywhere and my wife loves it.
