I was always told if you started a sewing project on Friday you would never finish it.

I was told any stitch you did on Sunday would have to be ripped out and redone on Monday.

Pick your nose on Monday????? What?????

My grandmother had a fit if she caught me with a needle and thread on Sunday. She always said I would have to pick it out with my nose. If that ends up being true, I know what I will be doing for eternity :-)

I have heard that "pick it out with your nose if you sew on Sunday" saying as well and was concerned for years because I sewed so much on Sundays. Then I had an epiphany! I realized that my nose was long gone and I happily sewed on Sunday from then on without worry!

Oh, yeah, my mother used to tell me my Sunday stitches would need ripping out. I thought it was more to keep me in line with more "appropriate" Sunday activities. Now I sew on Sunday, after church and a nap!! :-)

My DH's grandmother would never start a project on a Friday. If she was of a mind to want something new to work on, she would get her supplies out on Thursday night and at least thread her needle and take a few stiches.

My mother, who was the least superstitious person in the world, did not like to start anything on Friday that she couldn't finish that day. Friday was our day to finish projects we had started some other day. froggyintexas

If you start a sewing project on _____, you won't live long enough to wear it out.
Do you follow this old superstition?
Thanks

I remember when most of the stores were closed on Sunday...I kinda wish that were still true...it might create for family time and I would plan ahead.
