Old wives tale

I need help remembering what day you're not supposed to start a project on. It went something like this...
If you start a sewing project on _____, you won't live long enough to wear it out.
Do you follow this old superstition?
Thanks
Joan

Sunday. Also what you sew on Sunday you have to pick out with your nose on Monday!

Ohh, too funny, all of a sudden I am reminded of my Granny, she always said that and I thought she was thoroughly
sick of teaching me (knit, crochet, buttons, hand sewing etc) on Saturdays and that was the excuse!

My DM did not like to start a project on Friday. "That is the end of the week." Superstition, or not?

What you sew on Sunday you have to pick out with your nose on Monday is a saying I heard through out my growing up years. I know it's not true because I now sew even on Sundays. A seam ripper has no "favorite" day of the week, all days are equal because you get to use it every day.

Good one, I would love to hear more. Anymore sayings out there?

The Sunday thing comes from when we were told to never work on Sundays - it's a day of rest.
