Orgnization

I have a walk-in closet for my fabric stash. I had all the fabric folded on boards and by color. Every time I wanted to use a fabric I really had to struggle to get it out. Recently I saw on the internet how one person used hangers to store their fabric. Went to the store and purchased some hangers (actually I had to make 3 trips since I underestimated). My fabric stash is now neatly arranged by colors and accessible without the whole thing tumbling down

That is a great idea. Could you post a picture?

I have my fabrics folded by ruler and stacked. It may be possible for me to hang mine also. I would need to see a picture of yours to see if this would work for me. Thank you.

Sometimes it takes a trial or two to get it right, doesn't it.
I think it's a mark of the creativity of quilters that we have so many ways to store/display our tools and stash.

That's an idea I got from Leah Day. I have all but the small stuff and the huge stuff (mostly still on the bolt) on hangers and the closet rod is jam packed. I sure like that storage method. As soon as I saw Leah's fabric stash on hangers, I knew that would be perfect for me.

I tried posting a picture and can't figure it out. I am enclosing the url for where I got the idea. Weezie is right that it is Leah Day. I did not give her credit previously because I couldn't remember where I saw it. Here it is:

My 10 plastic bins of fabric will not fit on my rods and I have a walk in closet. Bins work fine when you fold fabrics so they are in a nice row. I have them on metal shelves that were cheap. Stored by color and holidays and backing and background.
Hanging quilts is a good idea.
