I triped over my little Rosies kitchen fence area and bout broke my boob. Now, I hope a bad hurt like that (I fell right on the fence with my boob) doesn't make one get cancer.

Tartan 09-16-2011 12:04 PM

My mother slipped and fell hitting one of hers on the edge of the tub. Really hurt but no cancer some 40 years later. She's 83. My granny sucked one of hers into a milk bottle expressing her milk. Now that had to hurt! Can you believe that's what they used to do way back? You heated the bottle to create a vacuum and there you go. Boob in a bottle!

Playing Around

OUCH!!! I bet it's going to turn colors. Maybe check w/your doctor.
Reminds me of the time I was moving a full pot of coffee from the bottom burner to the top "keep warm" burner at the office - I bumped the full pot and it spilled unto my boobs. Even though it burned, all I could think of was the weekly "accident" report my company put out - "admin burns boobs with hot coffee".
I hope you're ok.

Testing pictures

Ouchie! Yep - it's going to get purple. I bumped one of mine not long ago and the bruise is yellow now.

Oh my, I'm sorry but I laughed, broke your boob!LOL....I would have the doc check it at your next visit but I wouldnt schedule one. Hope your boob feels better soon...LOL

FancyFoot 09-16-2011 12:19 PM

Seeing if I can post a picture...

Getting ready for work, I dropped the hot curling iron on my boobs. It took a long time to heal, actually its kinda scarred :x :x :x :x

Ellen 09-16-2011 12:41 PM

Have you ever heard of Arnica Gel? It's great for bruises and helps the owwwwy. I was going to suggest a sling....lol...but it's already in one. Wonder if that's why that man invented that contraption many many moons ago..hmmmm.

RenaB 09-16-2011 12:54 PM

I know it had to hurt but to be honest I had to giggle a little because it sounds like something I would do. I have given mine a pretty bad whomp at times and all is well some 20+ years later.

LOL, at granny. That is something else. We were so resourceful back then.

bearisgray 09-16-2011 01:15 PM

I did get one caught in the wringer of my wringer washer once.

50 years later - it doesn't seem that much worse for wear.

It probably wasn't that much worse than having a mammogram done¡

quiltingcandy 09-16-2011 01:16 PM

Don't worry - a bruise does not cause cancer.

Do I work with you?!? That happened to my co-worker as well!! Awful!

Jennie and Me 09-16-2011 01:25 PM

Sorry Tartan, but I really did a snarf-snort at that!! Wow, anytime "the girls" are involved in an accident it HURTS!

Nancy Ingham 09-16-2011 01:28 PM

Yes, while it is true that truma caused by injury can cause Cancer(happened to a family member)it does not necessarily mean that it will happen to you. Just be mindful of the injury and continue your self-exams. Sorry for your pain.
Take care and don’t worry un-necessarily.

Candace 09-16-2011 01:32 PM

Now that's a positive about being tiny. No boobs to break:> hehehe.

grayma 09-16-2011 01:39 PM

Sorry to hear about the hurt to your girl, but I had to bust out laughing about the "boob in a bottle" post!

Crabby Patty 09-16-2011 02:47 PM

Sorry you girls have had such hard luck with "your girls" and hope the pain goes away quickly but I have laughed harder reading all the posts than I have in a long time. Especially with grannies boob in a bottle. Now my eyes are so full of tears I can't see what I'm doing. "Hang"( pun intended) in there. patti

ROFL LOL

Stitchnripper 09-16-2011 04:32 PM

Ouch! My cousin tells me she is still sore 2 days after her mammogram, so I'm sure there would be no cancer involved in your unfortunate situation!!

teacherbailey 09-17-2011 02:55 AM

I once steam-burned my boob with steam coming out from uder the iron.....moral of this story is to PUT YOUR BRA ON BEFORE STEAM-IRONING YOUR SHIRT!!!!!! (no blisters, just redness and it was tender for a couple of days...)

mmdquilts 09-17-2011 03:17 AM

They do get in the way sometimes don't they!

OMG... my aunt did the same thing when we were doing her laundry...I was 11 years old at the time.... I remember telling her..I never wanted big boobies after that... to this day we laugh..cuz mine are bigger then she was...

annthreecats 09-17-2011 04:15 AM

So sorry to hear about all the accidents involving boobs.

I had a really good laugh at some of these incidents. The boob in a bottle and the washing machine wringer were the funniest. Thank you for making my morning. Now I have to go wash my face, the tears are making a mess.

QuiltNama 09-17-2011 05:37 AM

anniesews,
get a bottle of witch hazel from the drug store and soak a wash cloth with it, lay it on your boob and it will help to ease the pain and bruising. it is a staple in my house for all sorts of bangs and bumps.

Really. I don't think you want him touching it now. Ouch. I don't think injuring yourself will cause cancer.

Lady Diana 09-17-2011 07:15 AM

Not to worry, years ago and even today, some women get bruised when being sqaushed by the mammogram visit.
If we can indure that and have no cancer.....I think you should have no worries.

I'm really short and my desk was really big. . yep I slammed my desk drawer shut and one of my girls got squished.

luvstoquilt 09-17-2011 10:37 AM

Buy that boob an ice cream cone and sit and enjoy it!

Julie's free time 09-17-2011 11:41 AM

O.K. I have to share my boob story. My husband and I were both in college learning to be aircraft mechanics. We were in class taking apart an engine and my wrench slipped and I pinched my boob between the wrench and the engine....in front of a lot of other people. I just sort of squeaked and then calmly walked out of class and into the bathroom. Dave (husband) followed me and we were both crammed into one bathroom stall with the door closed looking at the damage when the instructor came in and wanted to know if everything was O.K. We both lied and said it's fine. Then we went back to staring at my boob as a blood blister the size of a half-dollar kept on getting bigger and bigger. There was NO way I was going to let the instructor file an accident report on that one! I could just picture him trying to draw a picture to illustrate where the injury was...Ughh!

Washing Machine Wringer, been there done that and do not want to do that again. Thank God for automatic washers.

MargeD 09-17-2011 03:03 PM

Ouch. I feel your pain. I've accidentally pinched them a few times moving things - not fun. Hope you are OK now, but you did give me a chuckle when you said you almost broke it. Take care of the girls.

Farm Quilter 09-17-2011 06:00 PM

Well, now the world knows...your boobs, like Coke, are the real thing...they didn't POP

craftymatt2 09-17-2011 06:25 PM

Oh my I hate when I hurt the "twins", but i couldn't help but laugh, i am so sorry, tho, i hope you feel better soon.

Maris 09-17-2011 07:28 PM

Don't usually read all the posts but with this subject I did and every reply kept getting funnier and funnier. Hope all will be better tomorrow

SewOK 09-17-2011 09:40 PM

My dog and my dh like to wrestle and romp in the bed sometimes in the morning and although my dog only weighs 26 lbs. it really hurts if she happens to jump on me. I keep telling dh I'm going to end up having breast cancer because of the dog jumping on my "girls". And, I always end up with a bruise when she jumps on me there.
