Our new puppy!
Hi everyone, at the weekend we went up to Lincolnshire (in the north east of England - we live in the south west!) to choose our puppy. We have been on a waiting list for one of these since early this year as they are not common in the UK. But we met one locally and were hooked. It is a hunt, point, retrieve breed, I believe they are also used in the USA. My DH shoots so our pup will go out with him when he's old enough - ie next season. But primarily he will be a family dog. When he's old enough I will try him at agility as well which is something I used to enjoy years ago with the border collie I had then! Anyway, he will be called Sirius after the Dog Star and we can go back in two weeks to collect him - I can hardly wait! He is now my avatar picture and I have put more pictures of him on my blog. Thanks for letting me share - I'm so excited! :)

is he a pionter or what? glad you went to see puppies/parents ,Lincolnshire is now quite a puppy farming area---cheaper properties and in isolation. hope he goes well.
What an adorable little guy. I hope you have many years of fun and love with him.
Cute dog and he will be a very loyal dog too

Lucky you, he is so cute. There is nothing like a puppy in the house, I'm sure you will all have a ball with him.

Congratulations on the wonderful addition to your family!!!!! Good luck with him. I am glad you said he will be a family dog. I have an airedale and he is definitely a family member! We do not hunt him.

Welcome Sirius, I am sure he is going to give you many years of great joy. I know my big boy gives me great joy

I love puppies, they are so full of themselves, so confident and happy, so open to the world and so trusting, wouldn't it be great if we could all enjoy life like that? Your new baby is adorable.

What a Pretty Boy!!

Congratulations on your new furbaby. We don't go to "puppy mills" either. We adopt rescue dogs.
After losing our darling Corgi six years ago, we adopted a Lancashire Heeler. When we went to bring her home, we noticed a darling Saint Bernard who had just been delivered to the Rescue Farm. We have had Saints before so we knew what a joy they are. Well, we came home with two dogs! They are the delight of our lives. |
Congratulations on your new addition! He is sure to bring so much joy and happiness into your home. I know our little Gracie (my avatar) has completely stolen our hearts, and we love her beyond measure. Enjoy your new baby!

lovely dog and good to hear he will be worked - my ex was a game shooting man so at one point had 3 working labs - all brilliant at their job but also excellent family dogs - one of his mates had the same breed as you and he was a really fantastic all rounder so your hubby should have lots of fun with him
What a beautiful dog. He looks like he will be a very smart pup.
He is adorable.
He is so cute. You have a wonderful new member to your family.
How sweet! I want one!
I've never heard of this breed. He is cute! You'll have to keep us supplied with pics as he grows and changes. Enjoy!
Good luck with your new pup.
He is adorable. I love the pics with your husband ...they both look like they are in love.
What a perfectly lovely puppy! I know you will enjoy him.
Congratulations! He's a very handsome fellow

This is definitely NOT one of those puppy farms, I wouldn't give them the time of day. These pups are from KC registered and health checked parents - we met the mother dog (obviously) and a gentleman had brought his bitch who is our pup's full sister from an earlier litter for us to meet as well. Sorry if I sound forceful, and obviously you don't know me, but there's no way I'd buy a pup from a disreputable place - I've had dogs all my life and have done my research. :)

What an exciting event! He'll love your home, for sure, just as you will love him.
