Pattern
Hi! Does anyone know where I can find a pattern or tutorial on making a bedside cell phone holder that can Velcro over a bed rail? I volunteer at a hospital and we would like to make these for patients with cell phones. Thanks!

Maybe you need to look for a small walker type caddy. Maybe one of these would suit you. http://www.sewingsupport.com/sewing-...lker-bags.html
If the bag fits the phone too tightly, it might cause someone on medication to miss the bag and the phone hit the floor. |
You might be able to start with a placemat size and fold and sew one.

I bet you can convert this by using Velcro on the back. They can old more than a cell phone, too....book, glasses, tissue......

Sounds like a great thing to make. A smaller version of a walker bag.

I was thinking the same thing - what a great and very handy idea!!

Maybe this might give you an idea of how to design one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzhusCQcVCo
I didn't click on any of these patterns but maybe something here could be adapted? http://tipnut.com/organizers-caddies/ |
If you really want it to only hold a cell phone I recommend 2 strips of fabric 5 1/2" x 18" and 1 piece of batting (such as W&N) the same size. Sandwich but don't bother to quilt. Near one end sew a 6" piece (fuzzy side) of Velcro lengthwise down the center of the sandwich. Skip 2 or 3 inches and sew the (hook side) Velcro along the same line. On the opposite end of the sandwich: Bind across the end, the fold up about 5" creating a pocket Bind both sides of the sandwich with the pocket folded up. You now have a phone holder the can be hung from a variety of bars or chair arms

All of these sound very helpful.

Hey! What a great idea! You will start a new fad and a good one at that! I was recently in the hospital and would have loved this!
