I have never heard of this method for perserving peaches either, but I think I am going to do an experiment.

I love to eat peaches year around, but I definitely do not like the price of most frozen peaches.

Hey if all else fails, the results will end up in a smoothie.

Your so lucky. I love peaches. The method sounds good. If it doesn't work make pie.

I have a peach tree. It is defective. We've lived here 16 years and the peaches have NEVER made it bigger than 1 1/2" around and have never blushed, they just fall off and rot!!!
Wish I could get good peaches instead of just having to clean up a mess (It is beautiful when it blooms and provided great shade for the dogs)

I have done this for years. Only I just put them in a sink of hot water to thaw for a few minutes. The skin comes off so easily. It is not great for eating as a fresh picked peach from a tree because they are a bit mushy. They are wonderful though for cobblers or for using on ice cream or for making preserves. So do not expect it to be like a fresh picked peach just for eating. That is wrong for the article to say that. Anytime a fruit is frozen you lose that firmness.
