What type of dog,cat or other pet do you have

Kehoeta 09-23-2011 06:41 AM

2 Fur babies for me... Trooper - 100 pounds of lab mix... Sweet and friendly and Keegan - 30 pounds of Feisty English Bull Terrier Mix...

Guess who rules the roost?

I have always had dogs, but the only cat I ever had, he thought he was a dog.. begged, played fetch etc.

lisainmo 09-23-2011 06:44 AM

I have a Himalayan cat. Very very spoiled...but so loveable.

Airwick156 09-23-2011 06:47 AM

We have 2 small dogs.

Woofie is a long haired chihuahua who is 10 years old and isn't getting around too good lately. But he is still up for a long walk on the beach when we go even if he is walking crooked and "daddy" has to carry him sometimes. Woofie doesn't know that he is a dog.

And then we have PoohJoe. PoohJoe IS A DOG in all aspects. But hes a great dog and he is a poodle and is 8 years old now. We call him our Velcro dog as he thinks he has to be next to my husband at all times. He even sleeps with my husband and props his head up on my husbands knees. PoohJoe was adopted from a Vet that whos owner took him to to have him boarded while she was in the hospital and just a few days later the lady died. So Poohjoe was left and put up for adoption and my husband fell in love with him and that is how he became part of our family. Both dogs are certified companion animals through the VA for my husband.

Rat Terrier, Sadie! Doesn't know she's a dog. Loveable, sweet and so.... easy to train. Great lap dog. Sit down and she's in your lap.

blueangel 09-23-2011 06:49 AM

I have one kittie cat.

echoemb 09-23-2011 06:54 AM

3 dogs, all heelers. Squaw my over achiever, 2 agility championships, a CD in obedience and an Rally excellent title. She is 8. Then there is Rex, 4 years old, a rescue who is in charge of making me laugh and he does a good job every day. Dally, 2 YO, also known as butthead. Very smart, very stubborn and always wants to fight with Rex. He is learning but he has been a challenge. Love them all and don't know how I would live without them. (dally is my avatar as a puppy and he is just as cute as an adult)

sewmary 09-23-2011 06:55 AM

One cat - your average DSH tuxedo cat. My little Gizzy Girl.
One dog - found as a stray - some kind of beagle, German Shorthair maybe Springer extermely lovable. Needs her "hands on Daisy" time every night and whenever else she can get it. Hates it when I am sewing because I am not paying attention to her. Goes and sulks but forgets she is sulking and falls asleep.

ShowMama 09-23-2011 06:55 AM

I have:

Two inside cats - Bitty (white w/gray tail & top of head) and Willie (gray tabby with white feet, belly & nose).

One outside cat - Jelly (gray tabby with white feet).

Two big outside dogs - Ellie (3/4 Great Pyrenees & 1/4 yellow lab) and Sophie (3/4 Great Pyrenees & 1/4 border collie).

laughingquilter 09-23-2011 06:59 AM

Two dogs that think they're people.....both Shih tzu's - Rowdy, 11 year old brindle - extremely polite, just a great dog.......Jasper, 5 year old black - opposite of Rowdy....not polite, kind of naughty, but you just have to love him anyway.

Zhillslady 09-23-2011 07:03 AM

Cat:

Breed is munchkin. She is a silver tabby weighing in at about 4.5 pounds and 18 years old. She's my baby. People keep thinking she's a fat kitten. Her legs and feet are size of your thumb. She is too cute. Her name is Itty Bitty.

rwillig 09-23-2011 07:04 AM

4 Dogs, 1 cat, and 2 horses. 2 german Shepherds, Nikki and Nola three years old and Nikki is still stealing my shoes. Molly 14, Sassy 9, both my late beloved mother in laws dogs. These two really know how to beg! None of them have been in any competition, we quit that when our son came along and we ended up going to football and karate all the time! Bob, our only cat, is a bengal cat mix, whose mother showed up at our home pregnant, we found homes for all but kept Bob as we have always had a cat, but momma was destroying every knick knack I had, due to an ability to jump up on a two inch ledge and stay there!Bob can too, but we built a house with open beams and she spends her time up there! Two appaloosas, Charley and Star, absolute gentlemen most of the time.Hoses are not allowed in the house.lol Everyone else lives in here with us! Love them all!

annthreecats 09-23-2011 07:06 AM

I have two bengal cats. Brother and sister from the same litter. Taffy Morgana is a brown spotted tabby girl and Merlin is a tri-colored marbled male. They are so cute and soft. They are 6 1/2 years old.

I have one dachshund doggie, Wolfgang. He is a chocolate/tan dapple and is so handsome. He is 3 years old.

My menagerie keeps me busy.

butterflies5518 09-23-2011 07:11 AM

dog - Cocker Spaniel 13 years old, Casey Sue

SparkMonkey 09-23-2011 07:13 AM

We have 2:

Fiance's Corgi. She's 12 1/2, red and white, very high herding drive. Is maybe a little spoiled (maybe a lot spoiled). Technically she's geriatric for a Corgi but you wouldn't know it from looking at her. She's very lovable and affectionate but I don't think I'd call her "sweet." She's definitely got the herding-dog-knows-best mentality.

My cat. Age undetermined; she was an adult when I got her, so she's got to be at least ten years old, but could well be older. She doesn't do much so I can't say she's slowed down. Can't really slow down from "stop." ;) She's shorthaired, solid white, on the small side (only 9 pounds) and has 3 1/2 legs and allergies. She doesn't really harrass you for attention, but she is a cuddler. She likes to snuggle up beside you, unless it's cold, then she wants your lap. She's easily trusted around breakables, crafts, and unattended food, but she claws the crap out of the door trim.

Cat and Corgi do not get along. At all. Thankfully they don't often physically get into it, but we have to break up noisy squabbles every evening when we get home and both pets want attention.

labug 09-23-2011 07:15 AM

I dog named speedy and one cat name lexus

wvdek 09-23-2011 07:17 AM

I have three dogs: Laddie, collie, 11 yo+, blind, in/out, and my sweetie.
Kaden, GS mix, 5 yo+, in/out, lives for the ball.
Sebastian, Great Pyr, 10 yo+, guardian livestock and a big teddy bear who loves to roll in cow paddies.

My daughter has BB, Shletie mix, 10 yo+, 13 cats - 6 in and 7 out each with a different personality. As to the inside cats, I do have three favs: Colonel, Mr. Tubbs, and Bella.
Pete a Boer goat, neutered, about 225 lbs. and a bunch of chickens and one guinea hen.

Thank God I don't have to care for the cats - I would go broke. They cost more to feed and for litter than all my other critters.

All the dogs were rescued from the shelter where I once worked as were 9 of the cats and the goat from a negligent situation.

Deborah12687 09-23-2011 07:28 AM

My cat Misty is a indoor cat and she rules the roost! My avitar is a picture of her when she was little. Her breed is a french shartru and she weighs in at 25 pounds and that is typical for this cat breed. They are good hunters and will kill mice and rats in a sec. Were ever I am she is right behind me or sitting on my lap.

bj 09-23-2011 07:33 AM

2 dogs...our dog, Jack, is a boxer. Grandson's dog, Wicket, is a Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle).

prairiequeen 09-23-2011 07:39 AM

Ruby a red heeler.Just lost a golden retreiver 2 weeks ago but am going to get another soon.Miss her so much.

leiladylei54 09-23-2011 07:43 AM

We have a Pharaoh Hound rescued early this year from the Humane Society. We just love her...she seems young and less in age than they thought. A very timid and shy dog but she's coming out of her shell. Dislikes going out for a car ride (which is different for us since all our doggies have loved it). And we have a lot of pet feathered babies...domesticated and wild ones. LOL

I have 3 Golden Retrievers. My darling Jonah is my avatar and he just turned 9 years, Sam is my dumb blonde at 6 and Anna is my gentle rescued girl at 7 years. We took Anna overnight to find her a home- 6 years ago! Guess she found a home alright.

blondeslave 09-23-2011 08:38 AM

I have 4 very spoiled basset hounds. Queen Xandy Bear & Huggie Bear are both 9 years old. wee Gracie Allen is almost 6 and Clyde Kadiddlehopper is 5. Xandy Bear is a bit of a celebrity in basset rescue circles. She was Grand Marshall for a Waddle in Ocean City, NJ a couple of years ago and was Queen of the Michigan Waddle this year(all based on pledges raised). This year we donated $2,900 to Michigan from our Woofle which is where most of my quilted items end up. Xandy Bear is from a very respected breeder but the rest of my goofballs are rescues. They rule the household and it's true that bassets have slaves-they do not have owners which is why I'm known as the blondeslave in basset rescue circles. The big boy in the front of my avatar was Moosie Bear who left us for the Bridge last year at 12 1/2.

I have 2 cats: Lucee came to us as an adult and was already spayed and declawed. She's a lilac point Siamese. We don't know for sure how old she is...guessing 8-10 since I've already had her 6 yrs and she was not young when I got her. She is very heavy and the apple-headed kind on siamese. She is also a bit crosseyed and clumsy without her front claws. I love her dearly and our latest habit is for me to lift her up onto the bathroom counter every morning for a little loving and sip of water from the faucet.

My 2nd cat is a lynx sealpoint ragdoll named Princess. She is long haired but we have her shaved because DH is allergic to the hair. She looks kind of silly when it's first cut but I lie to her and tell her how pretty she is so she won't get her feelings hurt. She loves to play with her toys and will play fetch like a dog. She is super attached to me and cries if I'm not there at night. She is also a talker. She is never allowed outside because ragdolls are known to be too friendly but she loves to sit in the garage and look out the screened door. We have a cat door from the kitchen to the garage so she can go there whenever she pleases. Of course Lucee won't go through the cat door...so I can't put their litter box out there..drats!

Four indoor kitties. Rudy is my avatar, Baby Peeps and Squeaky are both DSH tuxedo kitties, and Missy is an orange tabby I rescued off the street. They all have us well trained!

ImMiksMom 09-23-2011 08:43 AM

We have 1 dog - a 7 year old Mini Schnauzer named Whiskey! (he came with the name and it suits him)

JeannieT 09-23-2011 08:47 AM

I have a Boxer boy - very rowdy but lovable and full of personality.

COYOTEMAGIC 09-23-2011 08:51 AM

All of my 8 FurKids are "Special Needs" except 1.

I have 2 short-hair cats who are geriatric, 18 & 14 yrs old. The 18 year old has very few teeth and eats canned tuna.

I have 3-2yr old long-hair littermates that were all born with the same birth defect of their eyes. 3rd eyelid on all 3 have been removed because it would not retract. Lucy had to have one eye removed because of constant infection. Lucky not only has the eye problem but also a level 2 heart murmur and some brain stem injuries that has lead to his walking funny and his tail curling up like a skunk tail, lol. Luna also has an autoimmune problem that is refered to a "Rat Rot". She developes ulcers in her mouth and on her lips.

I have an Aussie Shep/Lab cross who is deaf and 90% blind. It's a result of bad breeding. You would be amazed at how well she has adapted. Runs at warp speed across the yard chasing my other dog.

Last but not least is Katie who is a deaf Aussie CattleDog. She was one day short of being destroyed when we rescued her. Katie is my Medical Alert/Responce Service Dog. She tells me when something I am allergic to is near.

Don't pass up the special ones, you'll never know what a joy they can be

I have one very spoiled,16 year old, odd eyed persian named Opal.

Minnisewta 09-23-2011 08:56 AM

I have 1 cat named Swiffer , see my avatar.
My son moved back home about 15 months ago and brought his adorable orange tabby named Gutter.
My daughter and son-in-law move into the basement this month and brought their gray tabby, Loki, but we call him the devil cat. The cats all know each other from previous visits so everyone gets along ok. Good thing we only have 2 kids because we have run out of room for any more kids.

frauhahn 09-23-2011 08:59 AM

Just our two lab daughters. Both a little on the spoiled side, but we like it that way. Different as day and night, but bbfs. Holly, the yellow, loves to swim and explore, Heidi, the chocolate prefers to lay across a lap and get kisses.

TwinRiverFarm 09-23-2011 09:07 AM

2 cats: Sylvester is a 20 lb, long haired tuxedo couch cushion and Emmit is a small silver tabby who keeps us laughing.
2 dogs: Glenn, a 12 yr old golden retriever and Gracie, an 11 month old Gt. Pyrennees. She is already 110 lbs and my shadow.
5 chickens who follow us around and look for open windows to jump through. The girls are in charge of breakfasts around here!

Navy Wife 09-23-2011 09:17 AM

One small cat who rules the roost! She is Ellie, or Elliemae most of the time. She's a gray tuxedo DSH that we adopted from the shelter a year ago. She's very independent, no picking her up and not a lap cat. But she sits at my feet all the time, and will now get on the arm of my chair. Someday, maybe. This is our first pet since the kids left home 30 years ago. She travels well in the motorhome in her nest behind the sofa! Loves it when we get to a campground. Wouldn't go outside for all the catnip in the world. She's one smart kitty!

countrycousin 09-23-2011 10:16 AM

We hace four Ringo a Pomeranian mix very sweet and bossy. Bear a Black Lab mix who loves his master and playing. Wanda who is some type of hound and Henrietta a Pit Bull who just loves us and appreciates being rescued. She is black and white they call her a Harlequin. Does not like cats or rabbits and is an excellent snaker. Our dogs are companion animals to my husband who is disabled. We had a Trooper too he was a gold colore german shepard. My husband's friend deployed to Iraq and we took Trooper. Sadly he died from cancer.

emerald46 09-23-2011 11:45 AM
