I always heard that it was Confuscious who said, "Man who fly plane upsidedown have crack-up".

How about the obligatory "Have a good day" said by the grocery clerk as she turns and faces the cash register with a scowl on her face because she doesn't want to be there.

What a huge difference when somebody says it with a smile and really means it - it can make your whole day!

LOL That sounds more like Charlie Chan!!

Rhonda, I think you're right, it was Charlie. Gotta love him. I watch all his old movies every time they are on. I love his bumbling son.

They were great movies! I discovered the Nick and Nora movies a few years ago. I had never seen them before that I rememer and I have always loved the old movies. They are really called The Thin Man movies. There are 6 of them. They are so funny. They are sort of like the Charlie Chan movies. A whodunit with funny lines in the 30's? Love them. They star William Powell and Myrna Loy.

This isn't about pet peeves but what I don't want to hear and they persist in doing it is call me cute little pet names when they don't even know me. Sweetheart Dearie Love Honey. I tell them you don't know me don't call me your Honey. I'm not your honey! My mom and I "share" this view with people when possible. It is disrespectful to call me a pet name when you are a stranger to me. especially if the clerk is a teenager and my mom is 77 and I am 54! It is a bad habit that should be stopped. I don't have any idea why they do it. Using Maam or nothing at all would be better. A lot of them just ignore me and do it anyway which is just plain rude.

Wasn't their dog Asta? Cute little thing and so playful.
