**ew - only had to handle a rat 1 time & the cat took care of that.... "gallivanting" - to wander about. (dictionary.com also has to go about with members of the opposite sex as a definition) **I'm in a 4-way stop in the middle of nowhere; where would I gallivant??? |

Ya'll don't throw things at me but just once I wish we could have some real snow & not the one inch we get sometimes. Last time I remember having anything was 20 years ago. We are due for a good ice storm. Bet this will be the year. We have a lot trees in our county & it does cause a lot of trouble as the breaking trees causes the power to go out. That means my kids will be moving in for a week or 2 as they live in the country.

Another version of the holler is-- It's just a hoot and a holler away. I just got out my handy-dandy little atlas and found you are in the southern part of Iowa. I hope you didn't get blasted like we did! Our relatives in Cedar Rapids said they got it pretty good - around 11". All of our state is just joking with Iowa with the jokes. It is just too bad they are all true!!!!! Just joking! Edie We got about 5" or so of snow but it turned to rain later in the day on Tues and now we have ice under the snow. I went up to the post office earlier today and the town streets are snow covered ice. Not much fun to drive on but par for the course for Iowa. At least it wasn't the 12" to 16" they were predicting. When I went out to start the van there was about 3" of snow ontop and it was crusted with an icy crust on top. |
