Last week, I made several pillowcase dresses to sell. Today, we took photos of the youngest DGDs modeling them. Both girls are 2 1/2, born exactly four weeks apart. (They are the youngest of our seven grandchildren.)

Adorable. I just finished two this weekend also. Although for much bigger grand daughters. I am sending these to Texas, I sure hope they fit.

All are absolutely adorable. The Wal-Mart I was in today had pillowcase kits for sale that included all the fabric and instructions on making a standard size pillowcase. I bought one to make for my granddaughter for Easter that has tweety-bird on it.

you could even put coordinating ruffles on the bottom.. to cute :-D

They bring back so many memories. My girls are now 48 and 47. I used to make them dresses and two pc. sunsets out of a pair of pretty pillowcases. I got a sun top out of one case and the little bottoms out of the other - all for about $1.25 - $1.99! I just made a pillowcase sundress for my 6 yr. old great granddaughter. Yours are just beautiful - dresses and granddaughters.

The dresses are so cute, but the girls are ADORABLE!!!!!

Karen, tell me how u do them. Never made one before. |
OK, now you all know how to make the pillow case dresses. When you are thru making them for your grandaughters, make a couple extra and ship to Nancy's Notions in Beaver Dam, Wis. and then they are shipped to Africa for little girls. You can go on line and look it up under dresses for little African girls and pattern and directions on sending them to Nancy's. I went to Goodwill and bought all the pillow cases they had at the time and made 15 in less than a week. Good cause and helping alot of less fortunate children. If you have any questions, PM me. I challenge you all to make at least 3 dresses. Look at the difference this would make if you all did just that little bit for the less fortunate. God bless you all. Take care of his little ones.

Sorry but I don't know how to make the dresses. It looks like it would be easy but there are no directions given here. Anyone have directions?

PAM B8'S
I made my granddaughter a dress out of the lady bug fabric also. Just beautiful. I am making them (8) pillowcase tops for the big egg hunt on the 30th of April. Also making daughters, sisters and favorite daughter-n-law table runners by the 15 minute pattern. (took 1 1/2 hours to do the first.) |
Google "Dresses for little African girls" or go to Nancy's Notions and her site will tell you how to do them and a pattern.
