Depending on the fabric, I would use the batman fabric to either be the body or the cuff and use a coordinating fabric for the other(1 yard works for at least 2 cuffs). Here is my go to pattern -- it gives you the basics and you can go from there. The only thing I normally do is a flange between the cuff and the body -- although I have done some piecing in the cuff.

I told her that she'd have to buy the fabric, so she goes to etsy and looks at what they want for their pillowcases and has the audacity to come to me and complain about their prices. I think she said that she saw a set for thirty dollars. She said they were a little elaborate. I told her that the fabric alone was most likely a total of $20 and about $10 for the work put into the pillowcases. She shook her head and essentially told me that's not possible. Then she complained that she didn't like any of the fabrics, and I basically gave up and told her to buy her own fabric, send it to me and I'll make them. I still expect her to pay me due to the fact that she said she WOULD pay me. If I was not tight on cash, I'd go and get the fabric my self, and do it.

I like the idea of print on one side and solid on the other... that would actually work better. Thank you!!!!

i use the roll up method, and it takes 27" for body, 9" for cuff, and 2" for piping trim. I love making em! Missouri star quilt co has a video tute on this method, sew easy!

I made my pillowcases 26 1/2 inches long by 21 inches wide(for ea side) using a 5 1/2 in border and 1 inch folded trim, using 45 inch wide material. Since there are different sized pillows I would measure the pillow it is going on first(or have it measured) in order to get the right size. If you need two pillow cases, then it would take 2 1/3 yards to make 1 pair of pillowcases(this depends on the width of the pillow).

I have made several for the grandkids - 26x41. I started at Halloween and now they request them for all holidays - I just sent them summer. Super quick and easy - mine have french seams, no raw edges.

Yep, this is the same method I use. Just finished 5 of them and have 8 more to go. They are easy and look so professional when finished especially if I do a french hem for the side and bottom. For the kids I used kid themed prints for the body and stripes for the cuff. For the adults, I used white fabric for the body and then themed fabric for the cuff ... mostly sports team fabrics. Often I don't even bother with the piping trim unless I already have something I can use.

Try Hancockfabrics.com - I just bought some Scooby-Doo fabric for my four year old grandson to make a small travel size pillow case for him since he doesn't care for his Thomas the Train pillow cover now (it's going to his little brother). Scooby Doo was 5.39 a yard a few days ago. Good luck in your search.

How about plain pillowcases with a Batman applique (maybe even cut from a thrift store Batman T-shirt - stablized of course). I also think the idea of just the Batman cuff is a good one.

If you go to allpeoplequilt.com and check out the Million Pillowcase page you'll find patterns to make pillowcases. The body of one pillowcases is about 3/4 of a yard, the band 1/4 yard and 2 to 2 1/2 strip for contrast. May in Jersey
