I have two also, a 4 qt. and 6 qt. I use the larger one for whole chickens to make stewed chicken & dumplings. I even put the frozen chicken in there, just cook a little longer. Pull chicken off the bones, add water, season and I have the works for cooking dumplings. Love it, saves lots of time. Cooks potatoes, quartered, in 10 mins or so. Just read instructions carefully and heed them. Love this board!!!!!!!! Mary

I have an electric one and I love it!

Mine has a brown feature, pressure cooker features, and a slow cook (like crock pot) feature. It even moves itself to "warm" when the cooking is done.

I love cooking in it, and use it at least once a week.

Mine came with a recipe booklet, but I also look online. I google pressure cooker recipes.

I got an electric 6 qt cooker for Christmas and have been using it for anything I can think of. Got the Bob Wardon book from QVC since it was electric. It has great recipes.

Does yours come with a cookbook? If not, there are some out there and they are very helpful for ideas. Which one did you order?

I ordered the Living Well Montel Williams 5-qt. pressure cooker. It does come with a cookbook which will help somewhat, but then there is those yummy recipes of your own that I would like to incoporate into this fast cooking. And wondering if it's gonna effect the texture or the presentation on the table. That's another question I had with this appliance.

Thanks for the input on the cookbook. After I get it---I'll have to look into this book. This one is also electric so we will see.

I have an electric presure cooker and I could not live with out it, I use it about 3 times a week, for everything I just brown my meat first. when i did a pork roast that never seemed to get tender in the oven I tossed it in the cooker and wala the water steamed off and the meat drippings browned my meat for me and it was delicious.

I was scared of a pressure cooker too until I learned how to use it. I forget to use it is my problem. Go on line for recipes.

I had a friend that had one & used it to cook ox tails. She made the best soups from that...
