The new season starts next Thursday. Will you be watching?
There are a couple of bloggers that do a project Project Runway with "fashion" dolls. I'm really thinking about looking for a doll to play along. I'm not fond of Barbies though so I think I'll look for a Bratz doll or something similar. I have two giant tubs of interesting fabrics I can make doll clothes out of. That would be my "challenge" for the whole season, to work with only what I already have. |
Yes, I'll be watching. I'm still trying to puzzle out why I watch it. I'm not particularly interested in fashion, don't care for the little dramas or hearing about who lost.
I do find it interesting to watch them rush around for their supplies and seeing them put something together. I WOULD, however, LOVE to see what you come up with! |

I know that part of what I like is seeing what they can come up with with crazy stuff to start with. I'll probably blog my project as soon as I can figure out a name for it. Project Runway and Project Project Runway are both all ready taken of course. |

Love Project Runway!!
|
love that show glad it is back

Making Memories has some marvelous patterns for dolls, ranging from a baby, to children, to my favorite 27 inch lady doll, up to a 5 foot 4 inch lady. And there are boys and men dolls too, all of them have patterns for clothing, Victorian and French Court dress.
I have the 27 inch one and she is enchanting and fascinating to make clothes for. My granddaughters all loved her, but she's staying with me for a while yet. Now if it were only that easy to make my own clothes... |
I'll be watching.
|
I enjoy the show. I love seeing what they come up with.
|
Oh yes, I will be watching.
|
I LOVE PR! I can't wait for Thursday!
My favorite site for PR news, recaps and fabulous opinions is here: http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/. |
Thanks for the heads up. I love this show.
I have a good friend and we both have to discuss each episode. Whenever one of us says we like an outfit, I say, well that will lose for sure because it isn't women like us they plan to sell it to. |
I love Tim Gunns.
|
I really enjoy Project Runway. I'm so glad all of you like it because I don't know anyone here who does!! Now I have folks to chat with about it. Who is your favorite designer? I like Chole, who won a few sesasons back.

I love this show! Last summer we were behind Jillian Lewis in the security line at Laguardia Airport. We chatted with her briefly and she was very sweet. She was one of the 3 finalists in 2008 season and did a gorgeous line of clothing based on armor. The details were incredible! Such talent...

I don't ever watch this show but just found out that a boy that went to school with my son is the designer this season. His name is Gunner Deatherage and he is from Madison, IN. Small world!

Jillian's LQS (it's also a sewing shop) is here on Long Island. She's also one of my favorites.

I'll be watching - and the doll thing is a good idea. My granddaughter just got an American Girl doll but being an air force family (her daddy is in the air force), they can't afford to buy the clothes and as grandmother, I sure can't - so this is a great idea. I sure would like to see pictures of some of the designs you wonderful quilters come up with.
blessings, scherrie |
Thanks so much for the reminder!! Love that show.

Now if it were only that easy to make my own clothes...[/quote] -------------------------------------------------- About 2004 or so in a fit of anger I cancelled the cable, but still have the TV to watch videos and CDs on... Can this show, or the clothing, be seen on the computer? All the drama on such things isn't a compelling reason for me to watch it, but even at my age I'm still interested in fashion. Not that anyone would know it, my usual clothes are jeans and Tshirt and lace up boots!!! But it's fun to make the doll clothes, and soon a new generation of GGKs are coming along who might want them. But some of the things I see on the internet are lovely, but I can't think of where or why I would wear them. On the other hand, I buy lots of fabric that I have no idea of what to do with it either..is it the same thing? |

I just bought a Moxie doll off of ebay to play along. |
Oh yes!! I'll be watching :-D
|
I love that show and am absolutely amazed at what they make.
|
I love the show! I am amazed that the designers, under so much time pressure, plan, select fabric and supplies, cut without patterns in most cases, and FIT a garment to a model they've never seen before. It absolutely amazes and impresses me.
I also like Tim as I think he seems to truly care about the designers and the end result. |
Is that a cable show ?
I havent seen it but a lot watch it ConnieF |
YES!!! I really love....(what's his name?)...never liked him before, but he is really a sensative guy..Since Heidi had that other short-lived program before, I was afraid that we would never see Project Runway again - but yeyyyyy!!Can't wait!
TIM!!! Yes. Tim!! |
Love Project Runway! Sewing machines and fabric? What's not to love?
|
I am a costumer too, so I like watching PR. I tend to leave my projects til the end, so seeing how they deal with time constraints is amusing to me.
I have a friend who lives in NYC, one of these years I hope to visit her & make a trip to Mood. I want to meet Swatch! :) |
So glad it has finally returned. I also enjoyed Models of the Runway. Wish they would have it again. Glenda
|
I will be watching! I love to see the wonderful and awful things the designers create, especially the outfits from candy stores, grocery stores, etc. Mondo (past finalist) lives in Denver and he has become somewhat of a local celebrity.

Hulu might run it too. Check for full episodes. |
I love it, ...thanks for the reminder.
|
I hope you share your doll fashions with us. That sounds like so much fun.
