We have a new Hobby Lobby store opening next Monday in Winchester. I had never heard of them until this board. Are they like Michael's except they have fabric? Won"t be able to get into town this week to see for myself what they have. Thanks for any information.

Enjoy this store, the often have a 40% off coupon, this is when I purchase a 30 yard bolt of batting.
Hobby Lobby is a huge crafts store. They are like Michaels with larger quantities and more variety, plus the added bonus of fabrics! If you like Michaels you'll LOVE Hobby Lobby.
Hobby Lobby is great. They do have a fabric section, not as much and not as many thread selections as I would like.
The best thing is that they always have a coupon of some sort. Every now and then it is 40% off one non-sale item. This is way better than Hancock Fabrics 40% coupons as an example. Hancock's coupons are only good on certain things...which is usually not what I am looking for. HL coupon is good on any one thing that is not on sale. |

You are gonna love Hobby Lobby!!!
Hobby Lobby is a craft store, fabric store, home decor store all rolled into one. Is there anything they don't sell? You'll love it!
Thanks so much for the information. Now I can't wait to get there. Sounds like I should be prepared to spend a lot of time when I go!

I love Hobby Lobby. It has everything.
They are great to shop at and you can download a 40% off coupon. Actually you can download or print several and use one at a time. I really like their material and have never had any trouble with it.
They're a great store. They normally have a coupon on the paper every Sunday and you can always go to hoppylobby.com and click on the "in-store specials" link to get to a printable coupon. Supposedly you can show the coupon by text or smart phone, if you have those capabilities, but I don't so I always have to print it out. Just about every other week the coupon is 40% off any one item. The off weeks vary in percentage and usually specify a type of product (like scrapbooking) or a particular brand. At some point in the year the coupon becomes the 40% off any item every week - I think this is closer to Christmas, if I remember what my friend told me.
They always have a ton of stuff on sale. |
I buy my batting at Joann's when they have the 50% off coupon. I have enough batting to last a while, esp if I don't get my butt in gear and get to sewing.
I love Hobby Lobby! I do wish the fabric department was as large as it used to be, but I'll accept what they have. The quality of their fabrics is almost as good as LQSs. Yes, plan to spend time in the store. Their holiday selections are always great! And, of course, the discounts after the holidays are wonderful.
Hobby Lobby is great! Not only hobby items, but decorating, furniture and seasonal too.
Hobby Lobby usually has thier fabric on sale for 30% off everyday. Usually the only fabrics that you can use a coupon with is the seasonal. I always forget about Hobby Lobby!
They are a wonderful store. We used to drive 2 1/2 hours just to shop Hobby Lobby, now we have i within 1/2 an hour and another one that is just 15 minutes away. They have such a variaty and great sales. Don't only do they have fabric (I have bought a few pieces there), they have lots of home decor, framing , painting, etc., etc., etc. You will love it.
Love Hobby Lobby and so wish we had one in San Diego County or anywhere in California! They are so much better than Michaels with decor items for the home. They have a huge selection of picture frames, scrapbooking items, other crafts and fabric! For holiday decorating they have 3X the products that a Michaels does. Best thing is that they are better stocked and NEATER stores than Michaels usually are. Enjoy!!
I like it better than Michaels. you can find things in Hobby Lobby easier. it's not open on Sundays though.

For those who may not know this USUALLY
the HL 40% off coupons run every other week. This was explained to me by the store manager of the HL that I go to most often. I LOVE shopping at HL and you can quite often find fabrics that normally would cost 6.99+ on clearance for 3.00-5.00 per yard (at least this is the case for the 2 stores nearest my home). If you happen to use insulbright they have the BEST price on this it is about 23" wide and 2.49 per yard other stores like Joanns sells it for over 7.00 py, and theirs is usually wider, but I do not like the wider stuff. With the 40% off coupon you can get the insulbright for approx. 1.50 per yard. |

=============================== Hobby Lobby is coming to CA...we are getting one that is now under construction. It's in a huge store that Gottschalks left, and I think the paper said there's another one going in at the same time, may have been North of us, don't remember. I'm looking forward to it, since the Gottschalks building is HUGE!! |
Las Vegas got Hobby Lobby finally and it is wonderful. Way better then Michaels. It seems brighter and just nicer. Plus the employees have been so nice and very helpful.
I made the mistake of taking my husband with on my last visit. He was quite impressed with all the home dec stuff. |
I love Hobby Lobby. Too bad the closest one is 3 hours away.
Their fabrics are FABULOUS!!!! And love the prices. And all of their solid colors are KONA cottons. And at a great price too.
I LOVE Hobby Lobby! So much better than Michael's! And their fabric is just wonderful! They have some pretty good quilting stencils as well.
Just a suggestion, the first time you go, plan to stay awhile!! I am planning a Hobby Lobby shopping day with my DD, I want to just go in and look at everything. Usually I just have time to run in and get what I want. They have so many great things there...oh and their after the holiday sales are great!! Don't miss out on them. Have fun and enjoy your new store.

They have a lot of crafrting supplies, wood, beads, yarn, floral, and lots of home decor stuff. They have art supplies and offer framing. They carry a pretty nice fabric selection too. I sure wish we had one here. When I went back last month for a visit to family and friends in CO, I was in Hog Heaven to go to Grand Jct's new Hobby Lobby and I got quite a bit of flannel I was looking for. They honor religion and family and will never be open on a Sunday. I applaud them on this.
Hobby Lobby is wonderful, not a cluttered looking craft
store as alot of them are. |
Go to Hobby Lobby website and sign up for its newsletter. Each Sunday you will receive an email with the weekly specials and the weekly coupon. You can print the coupon and take it to the store. Note the 40% off coupon applies to non-sale items.
P.S. JoAnn's will honor HobLob (as I call it) coupons. |
I agree about loving Hobby Lobby. 40% off coupon in most Sunday papers, good sales and good quality fabric.
I love Hobby Lobby! The decorations at Christmas a re SO amazing!
We have one near us and I love it. I was there just yesterday. They have fabrics and sewing things, but a whole lot more--stuff for every hobby under the sun. And even have some home deco items.
Prepare yourself for a wonderful store. It has everything, so much more than any Michael's or Joann's. It has 40% off coupons in the newspaper and it is never open on Sundays. I love their fabrics and use the 40% coupon on books.
You will love Hobby Lobby

I think it is a great seasonal home dec store, however I find they have limited inventory of items on the shelves. In the doll house area anyway......I have purchased a shelf, and I understand it is only temp. furniture. The mgr here is rude...........have fun........calla
