I was looking at the latest CLOTILDE catalogue and as I was looking at page 37 they are showing a "Pedal StaII" being used by a lady wearing her 2 inch pump.

It caught my attention because I had to give up my high heels years ago, and I never would have worn them while sitting at my machine. But it made me smile.

Favorite Fabrics 09-26-2011 07:26 PM

Gee. I take off my shoes when I sew. Maybe I can "feel" the pedal better.

cjomomma 09-26-2011 07:29 PM

Oh no! I prefer to be barefooted.

Sadiemae 09-26-2011 07:39 PM

Barefoot...

Enchanted Quilter 09-26-2011 07:39 PM

I wear my house shoes made of memory foam so soft .

alikat110 09-26-2011 07:40 PM

I barefoot also

Airwick156 09-26-2011 07:41 PM

I sew in my socks.

amandasgramma 09-26-2011 07:42 PM

heels????? What are "HEELS"????? Haven't worn them in years, and I'm with the majority -- I bare them all (all 10 of them)

scowlkat 09-26-2011 07:45 PM

The only heel in my house is my soon to be ex-husband!

Painiacs 09-26-2011 07:49 PM

Can't wear heels! Bad back. My dr took my shoes broke heels off and gave them back!! Barefeet or socks. Have to feel pedal.

DogHouseMom 09-26-2011 07:49 PM

barefoot or socks when I sew, can't even sew in slippers.

and I NEVER wear heels.

Isn't it strange how comfortable/sensible shoes get better looking the older we get??

arizonagirl 09-26-2011 07:52 PM

You mean we're supposed to wear shoes when sewing?

scrappy2 09-26-2011 07:52 PM

No heels in my house. Socks or slippers!

I was about to say the same thing, You can't pay me to wear heels unless its a super special occasion, and even then I try to find flats

Chris Little 09-26-2011 08:08 PM

nekked feet here

Jim's Gem 09-26-2011 08:09 PM

No heels for this girl!! They hurt my feet way too much. I do sew with shoes, mostly my running shoes.

Demshine 09-26-2011 08:09 PM

Barefoot

blueangel 09-26-2011 08:14 PM

Bare foot

AUQuilter 09-26-2011 08:37 PM

Have to press pedal with bare foot! Other foot in a slipper.

jean1941 09-26-2011 08:47 PM

Wore heels for years but had to give them a few years ago and them granny shoes are looking better all the time

May in Jersey 09-26-2011 09:01 PM

Another bearfoot gal here. Just the thought of putting on a pair of heels makes my knees ache. in fact I no longer even own a pair. Have to say when I'm at a sew in or workshop I sew with my shoes on, it's a challenge but I don't think others would want to see my beat up feet. May in Jersey

jaciqltznok 09-26-2011 09:14 PM

Being diabetic I have to keep shoes on all the time, but doubt I could sew in my heels, they are 3"-5" usually!

auntpiggylpn 09-26-2011 09:22 PM

I too "drive" barefoot (not my car, my sewing machine) I spend most of my time walking around my house with only one shoe or slipper on. I'm currently taking a FMQ class at my LQS and I am the only one in the class that does it barefooted.

Gramof6 09-26-2011 09:45 PM

I used to never wear any shoe of any type inside. Now I have to wear slippers. Habit. Sure do not know how one could sew with heels or shoes. Guess it is whatever we get used to.

Lisanne 09-26-2011 10:03 PM

Wear heels at the sewing machine? But of course, dahling, and pearls, too, and my hair is always perfectly coiffed.

Seriously, it would never occur to me to wear heels when alone at home, not for any reason.

quiltsRfun 09-26-2011 10:26 PM

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who sews barefoot.

orangeroom 09-26-2011 10:34 PM

socked feet or barefooted! Not even my big slippers on while sewing. I saw some program recently where the woman who was sewing took off her shoe to sew!

pdcakm 09-27-2011 12:14 AM

i only wear heels to quilt when i am wearing my june cleaver dress and pearls. the rest of the time it is "barefootin'".

me too...or slippers. Since I got my Janome 6600, I don't even use the pedal. BTW, I have not worn heels in..probably 35 years.

Cattyqwltr 09-27-2011 01:53 AM

Another barefoot quilter here. Although in winter, I will wear socks.

QuiltingGrannie 09-27-2011 01:59 AM

barefootin' all the time if I could! Do love my heels though when I get to wear them.

My kind of women! But no bare feet in the sewing room. I wear Crocs 99.9% of the time.

hspirit_99 09-27-2011 02:21 AM

bare foot. hate shoes

doris.meek13088 09-27-2011 02:48 AM

My dr also has forbidden heels. I loved them before that but even I would never sew in them. I find barefoot is best but our Montana winters sometimes make socks necessary.

mic-pa 09-27-2011 02:54 AM

I don't even own a pair of heels. But I cannot go barefoot so always have a pair of flat shoes on.

TanyaL 09-27-2011 03:02 AM

Barefoot or houseshoes. I'll bet the woman who had her picture taken wearing the shoes had to go buy a pair for that occasion! LOL

Haha! That reminds me of the models on "Price is Right" who would demonstrate exercise equipment wearing heals. Obviously whoever made that add is probably not a quilter.

Quilt-Till-U-Wilt 09-27-2011 03:10 AM

I sew barefoot or in socks.
