quilt or clean house?

I have an unexpected day off from work....should I quilt or clean up my messy house? HAHAHA just kidding............:D Of course I'm gonna quilt......

bunniequilter 03-08-2013 05:05 AM

What a silly question.....if course you should quilt!

quilts4charity 03-08-2013 05:07 AM

Quilting always!!!!

Bneighbor 03-08-2013 05:08 AM

Uhhhh....mmmm....hard choice...NOT!
Enjoy your day off. Quilt, sing, smile.

gramajo 03-08-2013 05:22 AM

That's a no-brainer. Of course, quilting!

tezell0801 03-08-2013 05:25 AM

Same problem I had yesterday. Did a little of both ... shopped a little too. I did get backing on a quilt - ready to quilt now. I always want to quilt but have a hard time enjoying it if I have other things I need tobe doing. Guess that is why I get so little quilting done. I gotta learn to let it go I guess.

all4flors 03-08-2013 05:26 AM

Its so sad that you would need to ask! hehe!!!! QUILT, QUILT AND MORE QUILT!!!!

Anita in DE 03-08-2013 05:26 AM

You had me scared for a minute! I thought you were going to clean!

BellaBoo 03-08-2013 06:00 AM

I would say quilt! If I didn't make the mess I don't clean it up. Small children, pets, excluded.

Nanny's dollface 03-08-2013 06:06 AM

What is cleaning house? LOL

Yeah for you, you made the right choice.

KwiltyKahy 03-08-2013 06:14 AM

"The only place housework comes before quilting is in the dictionary." I have an embroidery design that says that and I take it literally.

Tartan 03-08-2013 06:17 AM

Now what is the use of cleaning house before quilting? You know you want to vacuum AFTER sewing.:D

Michellesews 03-08-2013 06:30 AM

Here is how I think about it....on my deathbed, am I gonna say...."gee, I wish I had cleaned house more"...OR...gee, I wish I had quilted more....hmmm? There is your answer! Of course, occasionally, the house has to be cleaned...dog gone it!

narnianquilter 03-08-2013 06:33 AM

I know exactly what you mean! I am working on several UFOs and trying to finish one a week. A clean house doesn't even begin to compare to the feeling of accomplishment there!

nygal 03-08-2013 06:42 AM

I say do a little of both! Do the house work first THEN go quilt or else the housework may never get done. lol

dakotamaid 03-08-2013 06:49 AM

I take a minute to load the dishwasher, than speed thru the bathrooms, the dust bunnies can wait!! All of that takes 5 minutes than on to the sewing room unless hubby needs me in the shop. :)

EllieGirl 03-08-2013 06:56 AM

Quilt--no brainier!

francie yuhas 03-08-2013 07:00 AM

Do what makes you happy!

QuiltnNan 03-08-2013 07:10 AM

i have to 'clean house' to make more room for quilting :)

DOTTYMO 03-08-2013 07:13 AM

I would rather lance the dirt after quilting.
You know quilting makes a mess and m
Needs cleaning after quilting.
Don't need to do it twice.

Pam Riggs 03-08-2013 07:17 AM

On my days off I get up early get my housework done, put something in the crockpot and spend the rest of my day quilting.

Diannia 03-08-2013 07:37 AM

I'd do both. Make a list of the top priorities in house cleaning then set a timer for 20 minutes...clean as hard and as fast as you can in those 20 then when the timer goes off set it for 20 again and go quilt...this is what I do when I want to quilt but know I have other things that need my attention. If I don't make a list of the housework I want to get done then I keep finding other things to do that really could have waited then get mad cuz I didn't spend any time quilting. This is what works for me...

My husbands knows how much i 'need' my quilting time that he made other arrangements for the cleaning :)

Me too! This is exactly what I do...

charsuewilson 03-08-2013 06:19 PM

Was there ever any question? Don't the fabric scraps you drop on the floor help with the cleaning process? So, why wouldn't you want them there?

QUILTNMO 03-08-2013 06:53 PM

i would quilt then clean later

loves_2_quilt 03-08-2013 07:18 PM

I quilt and do laundry on those days.

sew4nin 03-08-2013 07:59 PM

Yes, the house will at some point have to be cleaned, but nothing says YOU have to do it!

Sorry! If I got the housework done first there would be no energy or time left for quilting. I do the bare necessities of housework and occasionally do a deep clean in a selected area.

JoyceRowell 03-09-2013 03:57 AM

quilting for sure.

SandySews 03-09-2013 04:03 AM

Quilt of course. Housework will wait on you.

twinkie 03-09-2013 04:17 AM

What is a clean house? It will be there waiting for you when your quilt is done or you have another day off. If you really feel guilty (NOT) about not cleaning your house, quilt until you need a break and then clean the house some. But, quilting comes first.

Sandy65 03-09-2013 04:24 AM

Cleaning is always on the back burner at my house. Quilting comes first.

Scakes 03-09-2013 04:48 AM

Is there really any choice to make? You can always clean later. That mess isn't going any where. :)

Silver Needle 03-09-2013 05:03 AM

That gives me an idea. I need to make a quilt for my housekeeper to say thank you for the quilting time she "gives" me. She's a friend. If I didn't have to pick up before she comes to clean I'd get buried! I'd almost rather quilt than breathe.

MaryKatherine 03-09-2013 05:07 AM

I face that agonizing decision almost every day.
Everyday the house loses. HOWEVER when the snow is gone, gardening will give the quilting a run for its money.

To think there are some that would say clean the house. Well, maybe tomorrow or next week. Quilt First. Yea
