Quilt of Valor--for my brother in law!
Today, my brother in law was honored in Johnson City, New York, for his service in WWII and the Korean war. He was a POW for 33 months in Korea, and afterward continued to work in the Army as a recruiter. he is 88 years old, now, still active in his community, and from the photos i've seen is delighted with this honor! He was nominated by his son, Marty, who was present for the award. My thanks to those who are actively involved in making and presenting theses quilts to those who gave so much, and asked so little. I'm honored to even be thought of as a quilter in the presence of people like this!

I have a second home in NY not far from Johnson City and had read the article about your BIL just before seeing your post. So cool that he is related to a QB member. What a wonderful story.

Loved, LOVED, loved this story! And the quilt is marvelous; he looks so thrilled. :)

This is such a wonderful story! So many of our WWII vets are not honored for what they did.
