Quilters as Football Fans???

Hello quilters on a beautiful fall day here in western Oklahoma! I've been quilting like crazy recently (retreat last weekend and another next weekend...yay!) and shopped yesterday for another quilt, so quilting is part of our daily conversation these days. So, my DH and I are enjoying lunch with "the game" on the tv when he remarks, "Do quilters love football?" I thought...well, I'll just find out!! He said, "You have to be kidding?" "No!" I said...."they'll let me know their favorite team!!"

Here goes...we're cheering for the Browns (I don't really care, but he does, so I do, too)...

You????

indycat32 10-21-2018 09:52 AM

Watching the Indianapolis Colts while doing some hand applique.

Tartan 10-21-2018 09:55 AM

I only watch sports as background noise since my husband watches.

annievee 10-21-2018 11:12 AM

Watch Texas teams especially college teams

Jane Quilter 10-21-2018 11:47 AM

I'm a Steelers Fan, but I watch them all, college and NFL.

Doggramma 10-21-2018 11:49 AM

I'm not a big football fan, but I do cheer on the Badgers and the Packers!

sewingsuz 10-21-2018 11:49 AM

If buckeyes are playing!

Onebyone 10-21-2018 11:53 AM

Sorry, not a sport bone in my body. I go to the grandsons sports game but only to watch them and shout out my support every now and then. LOL I told DH if he won Super Bowl tickets at his job then he could take someone else to the game, I'd go but to visit the city not see the game.

Stitchnripper 10-21-2018 12:54 PM

We both graduated from Louisiana State university so root for the Tigers. Even though we moved to Georgia we still pull for the Saints. Son went to University of Washington so we root for the Huskies and also the Seahawks. Other son went to NYU so no college team for him!! I can get into the spirit of the game if one of those teams is playing.

SusieQOH 10-21-2018 02:00 PM

I'm a rabid, I mean rabid New York Yankees fan. But now I'm all set for Tuesday to watch the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers. I have to be for the Dodgers because the Sox beat out my Yankees :)
I don't like football. I'm probably one of the only humans in Columbus Ohio who doesn't :D
This is serious Buckeye country.

Iceblossom 10-21-2018 02:12 PM

Go 12s -- Seattle Seahawk fan here. I grew up in Alaska, a state with no professional sports (we did have a couple of farm league baseball teams) and very few college sports, basically none back then. We did have basketball but mostly they played out of state.

Hubby is from Michigan, go Wolverines! Sorry Sewingsuz but I'm not allowed to like Ohio State. My favorite college football team is the Oregon Ducks which is rather sacrilegious here in Washington but so it goes... little bit of stress yesterday with the Ducks playing the WSU Cougars since I was rooting on the Ducks but hubby had the Cougs for his football pool. Nice thing was no matter how it came out, one of us was going to be happy :)

grammasharon 10-21-2018 03:31 PM

Big Packer, Brewer and Badger fan here. I thought everyone loved sports. Oh well, their loss. Lol

Nanny's dollface 10-21-2018 03:41 PM

New England Patriots and Alabama!

Sandra in Minnesota 10-21-2018 05:17 PM

Is there any other team than the Vikings??

SillySusan 10-21-2018 05:57 PM

I'm a UF (Univ. of Fla) alum, so it's the Gators! But, I don't follow them closely any more. I do break out in the fighting song when I hear about them.

Barb in Louisiana 10-21-2018 06:01 PM

I don't care about football unless LSU is playing. But I will watch a NASCAR race if it is on. Any NASCAR race.

geevee 10-21-2018 06:05 PM

I'm a very long suffering Browns fan ;), love the Buckeyes too!

Battle Axe 10-21-2018 06:18 PM

I'd rather have a baseball game on while I stitch. But we are heading down to the end. Just a few games left this year and I'll have to switch to football. I just keep it on for the noise.

quiltingshorttimer 10-21-2018 06:39 PM

Watching Chiefs right now! (beating Cincie Bengals) and can work with baseball on in background--but if my KU Jayhawks playing basketball (forget them with football!) I have to really follow the game!

Anniedeb 10-21-2018 08:24 PM

I enjoy watching football, baseball and hockey. Not a fan of basketball, soccer or golf. DH is a Nascar and NHRA fanatic, so those are usually on also. Vikings, Gophers, Twins and Wild are first choices, but if they are not on, I'll watch pretty much any team.

copycat 10-22-2018 02:48 AM

We watched the Carolina Panther game yesterday....they did all their scoring in the 4th quarter and won the game. Someone called them the cardiac kids. My husband is a huge football fan, so I join him with handwork..mostly knitting.

bneuen 10-22-2018 03:48 AM

Love the Steelers and buckeyes. We love football and college basketball, too. Always sad in some ways when super bowl is done because that ends the season. March madness is fun too.

mlt150 10-22-2018 04:52 AM

Watch the Chicago bears because Sunday is not a big sewing day for me. Church, lunch then football the rest of the day and evening. Hubby is big sports fan.

SusieQOH 10-22-2018 06:02 AM

A couple of people mentioned having the games on for the noise. I swear every Spring our cats know it's baseball season by the sounds of the house! haha
My husband loves the Bulldogs as he went there to grad school. He hates the Buckeyes (don't tell my neighbors hee hee)

stichinluvr 10-22-2018 06:30 AM

I keep track of the KC Chiefs

DJ 10-22-2018 06:41 AM

I was a majorette in high school so attended all the football games to perform. My parents were football fans, and my brother played football. Yes, it all got passed down to me. DH went to the University of Washington, and we live in the Pacific Northwest, so we root for the Huskies on Saturdays and the Seahawks on Sundays (or Monday or Thursday). We also watch Washington State games when we can. If we can't watch the game live, we record it to watch later and try not to see/hear what the score was.

I usually have a craft in my lap during the games: cross stitch, knitting, quilt binding …

We also like to watch the tennis opens. We are fair-weather baseball fans. Don't pay too much attention unless the Mariners are doing quite well … into the playoffs.

Pam S 10-22-2018 07:25 AM

We had season tickets to the Bengals for 15 years until DH finally gave up on them last season. Nope, don't miss it at all. I'd rather stay home and quilt.

Tudey 10-22-2018 08:39 AM

I have been a Philadelphia Eagles fan for 50 years!

craftymatt2 10-22-2018 08:42 AM

Yep, big Chicago Bears fan, love r football, we have a 8yr grandson who plays football, so his games are so much fun to go and see, he went with another son of mine yesterday to see the game between the bears and the patriots, yep we lost to tom, but it was a great game

gramma nancy 10-22-2018 08:43 AM

We watch the Redskins, Ravens, NY Giants and sometimes (Super Bowl, anyone?) the Eagles, but we are usually in a bar on Sunday afternoon, not sewing. Love my Buckeyes, too.

No interest in basketball, baseball (boring!!) or NASCAR.

Quilter74 10-22-2018 08:55 AM

I LOVE FOOTBALL!! My favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and my favorite college team is Iowa State (Go Cyclones!) and anyone playing against Nebraska. I used to be an Iowa Hawkeye fan until our son informed us that he was going to to to Iowa State. Sure enough, he did and needless to say....we had to convert. We are also huge baseball fans and are very dedicated to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Trisher 10-22-2018 09:11 AM

Canadian here... We have season's tickets for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (Canadian Football League).

We love to watch NFL games as well. We pull for the Green Bay Packers. Mostly :)

lblank42 10-22-2018 09:17 AM

Love football! We root for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Penn State Nittany Lions.

qltnmom 10-22-2018 10:04 AM

NE Patriots fan here.

mhollifiel 10-22-2018 10:17 AM

Late DH started on the defensive line for the UNC Tarheels! Son just got MBA from NCSU. Mama has to be real careful who she pulls for in any collegiate sport. Now I can pull for the Boston Red Sox without hurting anyone’s feelings! All in good fun.

jokir44 10-22-2018 11:02 AM

I watch the Chiefs and MU games with DH and my knitting or other handwork. Also did watch the Royals baseball until so many of the guys were traded. Now sometimes I watch some of the teams they were traded to. Also gotta watch Bill Self and the Jayhawks.

Jingle 10-22-2018 03:23 PM

No football here, my Husband never watched it.

We are rabid St. Louis Cardinals baseball team fans. We listen to most all day games on KMOX radio. Watch evening games on TV.

TheMerkleFamily 10-22-2018 04:09 PM

Go PACK Go!

wolf3349 10-22-2018 07:03 PM

I,m in sw N.Y. But Vikings are 1 of my favorite teams.--also watch Miami Dolphins.

Rose_P 10-22-2018 08:36 PM

I was a high school marching band groupie for 8 years while we had kids in the band, and I frequently went to the football games as a bus sponsor with them, but other than that, and "background noise" as Tartan mentioned, I'm not much into sports. My DH is excited enough for both of us. In fact, football season around here usually means that the dog and cats are nervous because he shouts at the TV!
