Rebecca, we are so much alike! You live only about 1 1/2 hours south of me. I'd say we should meet half way but the towns through there are few and far between.

I can't sleep if the closet door is open.

really? you really want me to list them?...:D
quirky is my other name, lol...let's see...they come so naturally to me, they don't stand out...hmmm...
I do make sure all canned goods have labels facing out and I rotate by age. (smart and healthy)
I have to always pull the shower curtain closed so the liner dries without mold and makes the b room look nicer.
I have to straighten the rug on hubby's side of the bed every time I walk by if it's crooked.
I hang laundry items in groups...socks with socks, etc.
I put silverware in the drainer in groups...forks with forks etc. (hey, it saves time when I put them away :) )
I always use t. p. to flush with. (germs! )
I always wipe the seat in a public restroom and/or use a liner if available. (self-preservation!)
LOL, dh and I have to kiss (those little quick ones for goodbye)...in a rhythm. I know it sounds funny, but he does it too! :D
....and many, many more!!!!! :p

That's not a quirk! I organize the laundry basket in layers so I can hang like items together. It's super sensible cause: A. It looks pleasing on the line, B. It's easier to handle, and best of all, C. When you take it off the line it's organized by destination.

yup, yup, yup :D

I asked my DH if I am quirky. He diplomatically refused to answer, sticking to his "everyone is quirky; that's what makes us interesting" reply. Some things you just don't push. We did decide, though, that our dog is quirky.

Instead of wet wipes everywhere, I'm the dental floss queen. I have dental floss everywhere - two or three in the car, my purse, my school bags, my desk, my suitcase, oh ya, and the bathroom. Geez, until I started listing the places where it's stored, I didn't realize I actually have so much!

flossing and brushing regularly may save us from a heart attack later! really! :)

I think your corn cob eating is cool! I may have to do that! I still twist the stem off of my apple while doing the alphabet to see what the first name of your husband will be. Now that I'm married I get very unhappy when the stem doesn't come off at D. My husband's name is Dale.

My husband won't eat near anyone if he's the only one eating. He doesn't want people to hear him chewing. On the other hand, it drives my absolutely stark, mad, crazy to hear someone gulping down liquid. I just got a shiver from even thinking about it!

LOL, qu Nonie! I'm reading this thread backwards, now that I have replied and I keep giggling at things, but dh makes this noise sometimes when he eats and he doesn't know what I am talking about.
I mostly tune it out bc he isn't doing it on purpose, but who would know these things but a spouse?
Sometimes when i am antsy I don't like to hear ice !klink! in a glass

the other reminder is silly, but i talk to all my dolls and teddy bears. and the plants outside, too. if i have to move a doll i tell her why, and i introduce one doll to the others. wacko? i prefer to think of it as a rich imagination!:D:thumbup:

I used to talk to all the stuffies and my darling daughter would beg me not to (we would be in a store! :D )
I'm not so chatty anymore and I only occasionally speak to the plants...guess they think I'm quite unsociable
None of these things anyone is saying surprises me at all.
We are very right brained ppl. Quilting is an art!
(right brain is the 'emotional' part...you know the saying: artists are temperamental.)
These are not quirks. We are just following what our brain tells us to do, lol...not our fault at all :D
