Viva paper towels has an advertising campaign called “Quit the Quilt.” Although it is aimed at their competition in paper towels, it does tend to reflect negatively on quilting in general. The link below will take you to the site of this campaign. If you would like to let Viva and Kimberly-Clark know how you feel about this, scroll down to the bottom of their page and click on “Contact Us.” They have a form for you to fill out and a place for a message.

well, I certainly wouldn't want anyone wiping their bum with one of my quilts ;-)

LOL

You're kidding, right?
|
I get heartburn every time I see that commercial. Almost as bad as when the Quilted Northern came out with the cartoon quilters who used knitting needles. At least that was funny in a sad way.
|
oh no
|
No kidding. It's a shame. Their slogan makes quilting sound like a negative thing at a time we need to be turning back to our traditional values. Quilters are wonderful generous people making charity quilts for babies, children, hospitals, and servicemen. We surround them with prayer and love with our quilts. We need more people thinking of quilts as a good thing. It is big business for the fabric and sewing industries.
They probably didn't know all this. But they do now. |
I just sent off an email. I find the commercial disgusting on all levels.
|
I guess I don't see the correlation between quilted (or lack of) toilet paper to what quilters do. I don't think it's that big of a deal. I jsut don't see how this is bad for quilters. But...I've never seen the commercial and probably never will as I don't watch commercials. What am I missing here?

Just sent them an email letting them know how offensive I found their commercials :hunf:
