TanyaL 10-09-2011 04:10 AM

This is the third time it has rained since last winter. It is so welcome.

I'm so happy for all the rain challenged areas of the country. We had a very set spring and summer and now for the past week it has been wonderful! Just warm enough to wear capris and sandals! I wish it could be like this all year.

crafty pat 10-09-2011 07:04 AM

We got over two inches over night. Still raining lightly. First in such a long time. Thanking God.

MawMaw B 10-09-2011 07:38 AM

Rain very welcome here in Central Texas. Maybe that will be it for forest fires for awhile. Two in a months time will do for us for a lifetime. Thank God for rain.

patski 10-09-2011 08:13 AM

saw that on the map. Im so happy for you!!!

It wouldn't be for long, but I have lots of towels & spare clothes. Besides, it would give me an excuse to have some hot chocolate. :)

Yup! you guys got rain & we - over here in the West Texas Annex - watched it on the radar of WeatherBug. Came up from the south & dumped on you guys - not a drop for us as usual. I was almost starting to feel sorry for Abilene, but then I came to my senses & thought - what the hey - they need it as much as we do!

We had 1/4" the whole month of September. You do know that means feet and feet of snow this winter. I have started building up the pecs for snow shoveling!!!!!!! But then I remember a day in January when it was +73! Edie

Abby'smom 10-10-2011 05:59 AM

yes, Sunday was a wonderful rainy day as it rained lightly here all day -- it was fun to watch

AprilG 10-10-2011 06:02 AM

Lots of rain here too. (Haslet,TX) My Chihuahuas wouldn't even go outside. They just looked at the wet sidewalk and the stuff falling and turned around. I had to put them on leashes and hold an umbrella over them! I got wet, but the little darlings stayed dry.

The rain was wonderful and very welcome. Cooler temps too!

Wasn't it just wonderful! We got about 1 1/2 inches, and it's muddy! What a blessing!

leiladylei54 10-10-2011 07:10 AM

So glad you have some much needed rain....it's been a long time and I'm sure you're doing the happy dance.

Owllady 10-10-2011 07:41 AM

We got three inches here and loved every drop. Hope for more in the near future. Thanks for all who have prayed for Texas and all the wildfires.

dottientx 10-10-2011 08:38 AM

I received over 6 1/2" of rain in my area southwest of DFW.
That's a guestimate as my rain gauge was full to the brim and the float was as high as it would go. Loved seeing every drop of it. Maybe the rain has killed off all the grasshoppers who have kept so much of my green plants stripped this summer. The hoppers have been eating things thet weren't suppose to bother.

I know in many parts of the country right now Rain is a much welcomed weather pattern, but here in the PNW it is still a four letter word. I'm want more sun and warmth for a few more weeks.
But I am happy for those of you who really need and want it.

Meme2six 10-10-2011 08:54 AM

I'm so happy for you Texans. My mother and brother live in TX and I was so pleased when she told me last night on the phone that it was raining and had been all day.

smcfadden 10-10-2011 09:44 AM

I got close to 3 inches yesterday. It was a beautiful sight. We haven't had any real rain since spring.

ThayerRags 10-10-2011 10:01 AM

We were vendors at a Quilt Show in Northern Texas this past Saturday, and had to breakdown and load up in the rain. Then, we had to wait until Sunday afternoon for the rain to quit so we could unload and stow.

The show was heavily attended, and I didn’t hear one complaint about the rain. Actually, it was kind of nice to see the umbrellas stacked in the entryway for a change!

CD in Oklahoma

purplefiend 10-10-2011 10:40 AM

We got about 2" of rain over the weekend.
