We got some down near Bastrop. I know what you mean about having to walk outside to see if it was real! Thank you God!

klgreene 08-14-2011 09:28 AM

That comes right across from us, but hits something and goes north and south. We here in Eastern NM need the rain so bad. Glad you got some.

vivoaks 08-14-2011 09:40 AM

Sorry - squeezed the clouds just a little & it dried them out.

Heard from the local weather folks that the little bit of rain put us over our average rain-fall for August.

Now I'm hoping for a wet fall (or winter for that matter).

Hooray....what wonderful news!!

MaryAnnMc 08-14-2011 10:40 AM

We had a great thunder storm parts of El Pso yesterday! Dumped a lot of rain in my area! Yeah!!!!! Loved it! The smell of sage is great!

Rained a little bit north of you, too. Not much, but a little. It even rained in W Texas (real W. Texas, Odessa and Midland), so we know it hasn't forgotten how. froggyintexas

GOD heard the prayers of his people!!!! Thank GOD for this great blessing, all people.

collady 08-14-2011 11:42 AM

That looks so nice. I hope it stays there for a while, spreads out to cover more area. Then moves to north central Arkansas!

Yes He Did! And He answered in a big way.
We had a wonderful soaking rain that started
in the night Friday and went until mid-day
Saturday. Then, last night, we had some more.
God is so faithful! And for everyone who has been
and is praying for rain, please don't stop. So many
other areas need it, and we still need a lot more
to really replenish the earth. Thank you Lord for
what you have done!

We're still waiting here in the Houston/Sugar Land area. I just got back from driving to Austin, San Antonio and then the reverse route with my MIL and grandkids. It was very brown along the way. I was so sad to see a cow in a field with absolutely no green that I could see. I hope the rain blows our way, too, but so glad that you have received it!

madamekelly 08-14-2011 12:29 PM

WhoooHoooo! Happy for my wetter sister and all of you Texans! Bless your heart.

Here's praying for your rain. {{{{{{{{{{{*********}}}}}}}}}}}} :)

Girl! Send some down here near San Antone! We are about to fry!
Hope you got a gulley washer ~ SugarCookie

Please share with us in Houston. City Council is voting on water conservation issues this week!

Tinabug 08-14-2011 04:26 PM

Thank God for the rain!

Alondra 08-14-2011 04:46 PM

None in the Houston area. I don't think I've seen it so dry, since 1980! At least today wasn't quite so hot... below 100, instead of over 100... and sort of overcast. Maybe rain tomorrow. Say a prayer!

sew1 08-14-2011 06:14 PM

It's about time. Lucky you. Some areas still no rain. We don't have that problem in central Illinois.

misscarol 08-14-2011 06:29 PM

Did it so far enough south to get San Marcos?

stoppain 08-14-2011 08:50 PM

great news sending good thoughts for rain badly needed

cr12cats 08-14-2011 09:55 PM

hooray for the rain........your kitty alarm is set to early for sure lol

Momsmurf 08-14-2011 10:05 PM

Hope it's slow and steady with a break during the day...let it rain ...

The parched earth doesn't need a torrential downpour..but I'm so glad you are finally breaking through.

JanieH 08-14-2011 10:21 PM

My area of Houston got a whopping 0.02" of rain today. Oh well, maybe next time. But I am glad and thankful that rain is coming down ANYWHERE in Texas! Oklahoma and New Mexico need it also.

Not anywhere close to the Coastal Bend Area.......maybe, just MAYBE we'll have some rains by September (keeping my fingers crossed here.....)

ShowMama 08-15-2011 06:07 AM

Well, I'm glad someone in Texas is getting rain. We didn't get a drop!

Helovesme 08-15-2011 06:09 AM

2 drops in Cedar Park the whole entire weekend. Thank God for all the cities in Texas that the rain did fall!
