We have had thunderstorms this past week, but not nearly enough rain. Of course this is monsoon season for the desert so the thunderstorms are welcome. Our temp this week is supposed to go up to 107 so the a/c will definitely be doing it's job. I can really sympathize with all of you who live where the humidity is high and the temps are too. Don't think I could take that.

Im raising my hand too. I absolutely hate the heat. Its 6:15pm at its 106 degrees outside. The older I get ,the less tolerable I am.

I'm in Texas and you CAN cook an egg on the hood of your vehicle. We have 100 + days for a month now and it's just the beginning of August. It does not start to cool down until late September or early October. I feel for you that have multitudes of snow. Our winters are cold but we never get much snow.

Was 112 here in the middle of Oklahoma. Supposed to get up to 110 tomorrow. Right now there are terrible bush fires that are being fought in three different spots in Oklahoma. Parts of I40 are closed. I think my roses are not going to make it, although I water. Have had the Peace rose for over 26 years and the climber, tea rose is looking really bad. hate to lose that one, mom gave it to me, telling me it wouldn't climb. LOL

We are very dry here in southeastern Oklahoma and several weekends ago we got some good rain. The rain came just in time to give our hay meadows a good soaking, so when they were cut and baled, they made more hay than usual. The Saturday that it rained we had lightening strike in the middle of our meadow by our house just before rain started. It was very windy that day and if it had not rained I hate to think of the damage that would have been done. Luckily it only burned about a 10 ft diameter area before it started to rain.

Our govenor has issued a statewide burn ban. But we still have to worry about dry lightening and fires started by using brush hogs and other equipment.

I do not do well in the colder, shorter months. To me cold hurts, heat is (just) uncomfortable. But I live where I can pretty much run around in a tank top and panties all day long inside and keep the AC set at 78.

Leave me the heat and sun any day over cold, less sun, and dampness!!

michigan has been super dry also. the field corn is just dying. and no one has a garden unless they watered it. spring really came 2 months early here, and some of us jumped the gun and put the garden in early. so most of it is done, cause i have put up enough. still have tomatoes to can. just received the lst rain in a month. until then, my lawn was brown, and i hadn't mowed in a month. supposedly it's the dryest since the dust bowl.

It was 112 in central Oklahoma today. Weatherman is forecasting a cold front on Sunday...temperature will be 99 degrees. Ready for fall!!!
