Ladies, for those of you who inquire about my condition, greenini aka JO introduced me to a site you can visit daily for updates about my condition. You can go HERE to stay tuned on what's going on and I won't have to keep repeating the same story over and over. Thanks JO (greenini) for the site and all of you who have shown concern.

I had to take a break from cleaning my sewing and fabric rooms
over did things on Sunday. Woke up Monday sore and stiff as a
steel plate (to much lifting bins of fabric, moving stuff).

So all I ended up doing yesterday was dilly dallying around in the
fabric room ironing fat quarters (yes STILL), and cutting some into
1-1/2", 2-1/2" strips, 5-1/2" squares, cutting the selvages off (trying
to leave at least 1/2" of the print attached).

While I was doing that I happen to think about some coasters that
I received as an "extra" goodie from a swap on another website I
love the coasters (but not the fabrics used, she sent them as a sample).
So I wanted to see just how easy these were to make (she said they were).

Dang if she wasn't correct. Heck it took me longer to decide what fabrics
to use then it did to actually sew them.

This is the FINISHED coaster I made with the added touch of an embroidery
monogram.

Think I might try to make up some of these in sets of 4 (maybe 6 & 8 also)
to give as gifts for the holidays.

If anyone is interested in directions left me know, I will gladly share.

Gorgeous Louise, this is why I wish I had an embroidery machine! But you know what? I can cross stitch!

Teresa,

The one I got had the center opening much smaller, I did not
follow the pattern exactly (of course I seldom do).

So yes you could cross stitch, hand embroider, use a prettier
print, or even use iron "embroidery" patches already made.

I also used one layer of insulbright in mine which made it
thicker, but I think next time I may just use a single piece
of flannel as my "batting" to help cut down on the thickness.

Here is mine and the one I received. In picture #2 you can see
the difference in thickness.
