Well I have cleaned and organized my sewing room
as much as I could until my daughter moves into her
new apt. on March 10th.

AFTER she is out I can than start moving my fabric
bins back into that room so that I can have more space
in the sewing room.

Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of my setup.

First is kind of a full on view of the machine area.

Next are the old emb. machine setup (and bolts under desk).

New machine setup with bolts and drawers under desk.

The area to the left of sewing desk bins of fabric, drawers for
threads, and other misc. stuff.

There is quite a bit of stuff in this room that at some point
will be turned into RAK goodies. But I won't say what or where
it can be "found" in the pictures.

Oh Loiuse.......I am not seeing the craft/sewing related fabrics.......

I cross stitch.
I love little scissors-embroidery style...I collect them and use them for my fobs.
think applique is pretty but hate to do it
you could use single blocks and turn into doll quilts or mug rugs.

Kris,

Those are in a bin that happens to be in the "fabric" room (where
daughter is at).

The ONLY sewing/quilting related fabric NOT in that bin is my black and white
crossword puzzle fabric. In fact I am not even sure where that fabric is at. I
KNOW it is on a bolt (about 1-1/2 to 2 yards). but not sure which room and
bolt stacks to look in.

Last night I was RAK'd x2. First was from Lawsonmugs sent me 3 postcards from a nearby town where she lives and a card with a fat quarter cutting chart. The chart will be very handy to have. I think that white barn could use a barn quilt block on it. She also sent a home made card and envelope. How did you make the envelope, that is really neat. Thanks Mary.

Then 2nd was from Krystyna. I got teary eyed when I opened her package and saw what was inside. She made me such a wonderful and special gift. It is something that I will keep forever and I'm sure will be kept in the family long after I am gone. She made and embroidery of Jesus holding Emma and framed it in the most beautiful frame. Krystyna you'll never know how much this means to me and I will treasure it forever. Thank you. You are such a special person and I'm glad to have you as a friend.

I am trying to learn to hand quilt as well. I got some stencils last weekend and plan to make a small wholecloth wall hanging on my first attempt.

If you're looking to free up space Louise, I can take your old machine off your hands, that would free up a LOT of space!:D

MANY things to my bins for RAK goodies. In fact I now have 2 bins that
are 24qt size FULL.

Don't forget to clean out all that pesky thread!

HAHAHA

Nice try Teresa.

But if you came to visit someday I will let you "play" on the old
machine (sorry NOBODY gets to play on the new).

Krystyna - Already did that, not much to clean yet in the new
machine, but the old machine needed the cleaning.
Can you believe that while my new machine was doing its "thing"
stitching out some praying hands that it broke a needle?

Did I happen to mention just HOW much I love this awesome
new machine too? Tell you what I did. Here are some of the things
I am have been enjoying learning about the new machine.

1) I think it is just cool as heck that I can wind my bobbins WHILE
it is doing the embroidery. So I was able to get my next bobbin
color (for FSL) ready without having to wait for it to finish what it
is doing. AND it stops itself when the spool is full (my old machine
you had to stop the winding).

2) I discovered when the machine broke the needle it popped up
a message saying turn machine off before removing plate. So without
thinking I turned the machine off. Now normally I would do this ANYWAY
but I was "shocked" that a needle broke. After I turned the machine
off I thought "oh darn now I "lost" my "setup" of praying hands #4"

So after cleaning out broken needle piece putting everything back together
I proceed to see if I can "setup" the machine the way I had it when
did the initial setup for 4 praying hands to stitch. Low and behold IT WORKED!

You can BARELY tell there was a "problem" with the stitch out.

Ok I am sorry I will stop rambling on about my new machine, just so
excited to be learning all these fun new things this machine can do that
the other didn't/couldn't do.

Now back to working on some RAK's, SP gifts and other embroidery.
