Congratulations, ironing isn't my favourite chore either.

Good for you!! I got to the bottom of mine a few years ago; I took all the "must be ironed" clothes to Good Will. If it can't be put on a hanger straight from the dryer without ironing, it goes bye-bye.

KGoodhand 05-07-2011 05:04 AM

Congrats! I have a long way to go before that happens!!!!

Tink's Mom 05-07-2011 05:20 AM

So that's what the bottom of one of those baskets looks like...I never knew ;-)

quilter1943 05-07-2011 05:23 AM

I'm embarrassed to show you how large my ironing basket is and no one will ever see the bottom of it either! Good job! Take the weekend off!!

BETTY62 05-07-2011 05:24 AM

That's on my to do list. Has been for months.

jmabby 05-07-2011 06:24 AM

I wish my basket was the size of yours, mine is huge. If you want more I do have some that needs to be done

mhuskins1 05-07-2011 07:16 AM

Ok so do you like to mate socks?

Ramona Byrd 05-07-2011 07:48 AM

Amazing!! Long, long ago, in a universe populated with people who wanted sharp creases in their clothes, but hung them up on the floor, I went on strike.

I did, however, promise myself that I would have the ironing caught up before or when youngest son went to college. Since he surprised us by joining the Navy instead.....

Well, maybe one of these days. Come to think of it, his birthday is this month and he'll be 43 then.

Naturalmama 05-07-2011 07:55 AM

I'm impressed that you even have an ironing basket - I just use a de-wrinkler spray -- and if that isn't good enough, I don't wear it! lol!

quiltpd 05-07-2011 08:16 AM

I'm with you Grannof6 !! The only ironing I do has to do with quilting ! Who knew ?!

nativetexan 05-07-2011 08:57 AM

Wow, i don't even have one of those! thank goodness.
pretty basket though!!

Susanna10 05-07-2011 09:07 AM

Cannot remember the last time I saw the bottom of my ironing basket

miss_ticky2 05-07-2011 01:31 PM

You mean to say..I'm supposed to IRON clothes??? ;)

lauriejo 05-07-2011 04:27 PM

I actually have never had an ironing basket. I usually don't buy clothes that have to be ironed. I taught my hubby how to iron his own shirts too.

Buttons922 05-08-2011 03:47 AM

I am so jealous!!! Good job!

Nanaof4 05-08-2011 05:48 AM

Haven't seen the bottom of mine in years! LOL

scrappylady 05-08-2011 05:49 AM

Keep your eye on it(basket) they have an odd way of filling up again. Leave the room and they are full. Strange how that happens :D

nwm50 05-08-2011 10:33 AM

LOL...thanks for the smiles you're bring to the screen!
Thought you had something to show us what you gotten instead!! LOL

vivoaks 05-08-2011 10:48 AM

Congratulations!!!

sosewcrazy 05-08-2011 12:16 PM

Ironing? You mean you're supposed to use an iron on something else besides seams? Who knew!

MerryQuilter 05-08-2011 04:57 PM

Congrats a great feeling!

CarolLady 05-08-2011 05:22 PM

The only thing I iron is material I use for making quilts. lol

I had problems scorching clothes as a kid when I ironed .. figured if it can't be dried in the dryer and taken out and hung... Some one is in trouble if they want it ironed!!

I second this also, don't iron or press clothing since wash and wear clothes came out. I use to iron for the five of us and did ironing for another woman to earn extra spending money. Then I came to my sences and never turned back.
I only iron fabrics before I sew and press afterwards.

My favorite kind of rare sighting. I don't often have one of these, It all just seems to keep piling up and before long it is almost a mountain. Congratulations.
