Oh yes, I've done that. It has nothing to do with age, I was barely 21 when it happened. That year was a banner year for me, too. I locked my keys in at least four times that I remember, and also left my lights on while I left for Christmas vacation. Two weeks later, of course my battery was dead.

The last time I locked my keys in the car, was many years ago, and it's still funny.
The car was not running, but it was in front of the gas pump at the local BP station. Luckily, it was only 8 miles from home, and my husbnad was not working (he works at a BP refinery) I called him, and he came to rescue me, only saying 4 words "You're holding up profits"

This is for people whose cars actually have a REAL KEY!!
a friend of mine keeps a spare key on the bolt that holds his back license plate on. It is between the car and the plate and is held on with the nut. all you need is a dime or nickel to get the bolt started. Some keys are too fat to do this tho!

Not only have I locked myself out...my dog has done the same thing to me!! I tell myself she didn't do it on purpose

Lately I leave the house lock the door and then realize that I don't have my keys! My DH finally hid a key outside for me. It happened several times last month! Not sure why, but it is scary when you start doing things like that. I'm only 55.
