We are under a wonter storm warning from 8pm until noon tomorrow! We live at the edge of the Blue Ridge mountains and it is snowing now!!!! This is way to early for this!!!!

DebsShelties 10-28-2011 01:47 PM

Just looked at the weather here (lynchburg)- they are saying Rain, SNOW, sleet in the am oh boy. Too early for snow. If it does snow, it will be a mere dusting, not enough for me to try out my new snow thrower.
I do have my snow gear handy.

buckyfan19 10-28-2011 01:48 PM

Just think, at least it should be short lived... it will melt away and not stick around for months on end! Or at least we hope not!

fidgety 10-28-2011 01:57 PM

Well if it keeps up all night like this we should have about a few inches before morning. lol.. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.. Woodstove stoked up and ready for my sweats and TV!!!! Ahhhh I love snowy days but it sure does sseem to early...

eastermarie 10-28-2011 01:59 PM

I live in southern WV and we've had sleet for over 1 hour now.

jean1941 10-28-2011 02:12 PM

Just heard on radio that they were was to be snow in North East states tonight that most of time no snow until early Dec.

DebsShelties 10-28-2011 02:33 PM

According to the news, they are gearing up with snow plows etc in New York as they could get up to a foot of the noreaster that is coming.

patchsamkim 10-28-2011 02:35 PM

It does seem early..but I know we have had years that there has been snow on the ground for Halloween.

QuiltnNan 10-28-2011 02:35 PM

sorry to hear that it's so rough there

beatys9 10-28-2011 02:35 PM

In my area they are saying 8+" I won't say this loud....yay

Jan in VA 10-28-2011 02:51 PM

Looks like my new Eden Pure heater arrived just in time!
IF (and that's a big IF) we have snow in the Bedford/Lynchburg, VA area I'll bet good money it'll be brief flurries. After all, it was in the 70s yesterday and sunny, and will be warmer again next week.

I do hate that it's even thinking about snow already!!

Jan in VA

KerryK 10-28-2011 03:00 PM

I'm ready for Spring! ;)

Carron 10-28-2011 03:02 PM

Well, I guess our cooler weather here (today is only 85º as compared to the high 90s we have been experiencing this month) is nothing compared to your 'cooler' weather.

Weather here dropped 25 degrees, funny weather.

Crqltr 10-28-2011 03:06 PM

Just keep it that way please...we will get it soon enough!!!

Barbm 10-28-2011 03:07 PM

6 inches for us. Darn.

hobbykat1955 10-28-2011 03:10 PM

Heading to NY and New England tooo...

redquilter 10-28-2011 03:13 PM

Heading this way too. Not expecting much here but northern areas might get up to 10 - 12". Groan. Much too early in the season. Wish everyone well. Stay home, stay safe.

mymsmess 10-28-2011 03:20 PM

Here in the Eastern Panhandle of WV we are expecting 5 to 8 inches. We have the fireplace ready to go. I can just imagine what my roses are gonna look like with the snow along with the mums.

virtualbernie 10-28-2011 03:25 PM

We're expecting some tomorrow... That's why I didn't complain about the 100 degree weather this summer. I hope this early arrival isn't a glimpse of a long hard winter...

raptureready 10-28-2011 03:26 PM

My DH said that there were winter storms in the NE but I thought he was joking. It's pretty early for that, we haven't even had snow in Illinois yet and this is where God usually sends the weather when it's throwing a tantrum

Jim's Gem 10-28-2011 03:43 PM

Wow!! To think that we had beautiful clear blue skies and 80 degrees today!

frauhahn 10-28-2011 03:46 PM

I heard on the news that there is concern that the power could go out in some areas due to the storm-please do what you can to be prepared!

Weather.com has a expected and possible power outage pic over several states.

quilter68 10-28-2011 03:48 PM

Today we, in S.E. PA., went from 'may see a few flakes' to Oh, Yeah! Your going to get a few inches and this is the FIRST SNOW BEFORE HALLOWEEN since the Civil War.

It is going to be nice but not fun.

Yooper32 10-28-2011 04:02 PM

This afternoon the radio in my sewing room was playing and the announcer said that we can expect 2 to 4" tonight through tomorrow morning. This was around noon today. By somewhere around 3 this afternoon, the prediction changed to 4 to 6". I think I do not want to listen to the radio any more today. I think I do not want ot look out the windows either. I might as well have stayed in CO.

Opal Jane 10-28-2011 04:03 PM

Yep... I live in Maryland, near Annapolis and we are expecting snow all day tomorrow. UGH!!! This is too early in the season to be dealing with this.

girliegirl 10-28-2011 04:30 PM

New Quilter 10-28-2011 05:23 PM

I live in south Jersey...ewww...it is cold, damp, and will be raining again tomorrow, but it is still better than the awful snow...if I didn't have to travel 15 miles to my Mom's house everyday when it snows and if I didn't have to much shoveling to do here before I go there to shovel, I might like snow...oh well, can't be helped...Naomi :( :( :(

tuesy 10-28-2011 05:32 PM

Seriously?? I heard that ya'll were going to get snow, but thought they were on some mind altering drugs.. it's way to early for this.. I'm on the West side, but have a DD who lives over that way..

susie0808 10-28-2011 06:36 PM

Yep! We're getting it tomorrow too!!!! It's going to be a big mess. Dh's flying home from cleveland ohio. I hope his flight doesn't get delayed. I get nervous with his traveling in the winter. :-( But it's not winter yet!! :-(

I'm ready for spring too!

My DH is in Rhode Island... He has to travel the I 95 corridor to get home and that is where it is supposed to be heavy... :-(
