The day my husband and I eloped, gas was 33 cents a gallon. On our 10th anniversary, it was $1.33. On our 20th, it was $2.00. After that, my daughter told me I couldn"t have any more anniversaries

I can remember 11 cents and 16 cent gas and there were still gas wars and a filling station on every corner in town it seemed. Oh those days!!!!!!!! Heck, I would be happy to see two dollars a gallon or less now days. These gas prices are ridiculous and as far as keeping up with Europe's prices, they have a transportation system that can be used, we don't. Most of those countries aren't as big as one of our states. The government needs to live down on our level for a change and quit giving everything to everybody, someone has to pay for the giveaways. Enuf of my bandwagon!

We got married in 1973. Started up housekeeping with glasses my dad had saved for me from ... the service station. Cheap gas and glassware, too!
